If you have a militia associated with the outpost, the player could receive notification with the strength of the enemy force and his own militia. Then the player could decide to Sally Forth and meet the threat or wait for reinforcements while the resources are trashed. But we don't have that for cities so why for Outposts?
Good
The big things I'd want to see for outposts is militia, ZOC, and no razing in the ZOC. Maybe outposts should be able to "build" upgrades slowly, or rush at a cost of gold/metal/mana.
I like "no razing in the ZOC". What if cities had to choose a path at level 2 similar to champions' "Path of the....". This selection at level 2 could then determine the offerings during future city level ups and thereby create truly specialized cities.

I like a lot of the suggestions here but honestly I'd just be happy if I could garrison troops in an outpost for 50% or 25% of their normal upkeep. To balance you could give them full strength while defending the outpost but half strength for 20 turns or so if they mobilize.

Solid Suggestion! Also, I have a friend who is color blind so I also suggest developing a small icon for the damage. So a little red fireball beside the damage number would get the point across to everyone. I like the split damage suggestion. More information is always better. So a little red fireball and a -5 followed by a gray sword and a -10 let's me know I just did 15 points

As the title mentioned, champions skills that begin with "Path of the" should be exclusive. The same champion should not be a Mage, Warrior, Assassin, and Defender. You should pick one at Level 2 and the Path should determine the subsequent traits you can choose from and the gear you can equip. Higher level gear should have "Path of" requirements. No more mages using 2-handed Axes and wearing Plate. I love the new traits but we need archetypes also. The

It would be great to have a paperdoll for equipping champions. This has been the standard for years. This could also be used to tweak itemization. Why can path of the mage characters equip a 2-handed axe? Why are assassins wearing plate?

You should see maul with the trait that gives +1 accuracy per level. So overpowered it's silly. I agree with others here. We need a more aggressive reduction of accuracy or a % reduction to accuracy on each swing. Maybe add a cap on the max number of swings.

Missing Reward & Corrupted Save Fought through the first 2 rounds of the tournament. Third guy pledged his loyalty to me if I withdrew from the tournament to spare his life. I didn't. Killed him. Arena guy offered me a bonus round with the reward of training my smiths to make masterwork weapons. I took it . Beat the Obsidian Golems. Quest ends. The game didn't crash but I didn't get the original quest reward (sword).&nbsp

Immortal champions are a must or everyone just reloads a save. So few people play hardcore. I wouldn't play hardcore with perma-death but i do let the champions accumulate wounds. I like the scars except for the one that affected the whole army. Didn't like that one. Look at it this way. Now the AI is on the same level. Otherwise you can save/reload and the AI can't.

A lot of the city specialization comes from placement. Do you take a 5grain 2material site or a 4/3. Since most building apply percentages to the base those two cities will be different even if it isn't readily apparent. Outposts change this dynamic a bit since they can funnel resources in but you get the point. Also you get to choose specials as your city levels up so you can tilt it toward food, materials, research, or money, or a mix (reduced unrest).&nbsp

[Suggestion] Please put a small icon over undeveloped resources. I know we get a notification when a new tile comes into range but we may not have the tech. The notification fades after a few turns.

I agree with the others. Very happy with this game. Get out the bug zapper do a some balance and AI work and this game will not leave my hard drive until we are forced to go to 128bit. Ah hell, who am i kidding. I'll just run WindowsBox.

IMHO - Limit the number of champions in a single army to 1 or 2 which will remove the problem of the killer stack. This would help push some champions into the cities for defense.

You're right. FE is much more fun. It's fun to level up champions and towns. Battles are more fun with special attacks. Even out of the box balance is better than I expected; for example buying gear for your champions isn't cheap. LOVE this game already and expect it to keep getting better.

DomIII was a favorite of mine and I had no clue this was in development.

Last time I thought about Ad Lib or QEMM386 was about the same time I drove across town to buy a meg of ram from a guy who was selling it for $298. At that price, it was worth the drive. After installing the RAM and running QEMM386 I could FINALLY see the legs of my pilot in Wing Commander! Amazing the stuff we complain about today in computing.

I remember Master of Magic well. What kept me coming back game after game was the exploration aspect and the chance to meet new heroes. The game was never well balanced (i.e. Paladin). The AI was never tough. The key: Every Game was Different. I know this isn't MOM2 but you seem to be capturing the exploration aspect with this new game (wild lands, spells). I hope you also nailed the hero/champion part. If so, I will forgive a lot of ills an

Planetside Three factions, fluid, epic base sieges. Nothing like it before or since. Expansion pack ruined it IMHO. More real estate coupled with a fragmented and declining player base made it feel barren.

2012 is the year of the TBS; Jagged Alliance, Xcom, Fallen Enchantress. Promote Fallen Enchantress as a true strategy game with unlimited replayability. Ultimately the game's attributes and gameplay are more important than whether or not it's tied to Elemental. The media will link it to Elemental regardless.
