Quoting SapSnark, reply 29It does seem that there is a definite bias from the gaming "press." There does seem to be a double standard where big-name releases from major publishers are given a pass for similar things that Stardock is getting slammed for. I think part of that might be due to the same reason that Best Buy broke the release date with impunity: Stardock doesn't have the clout to protect themselves. I doubt that pu

I've had hero's mysteriously disappear in the sand box mode. I had a stack of troops with 2 heroes and my main character, I garrisoned them in a city by accident and when I tried to expel them on my main character was there and the regular troops...the hero was gone.

I had a good time playing the game last night, but after about 2 hours and progressing a couple hundred turns in the game, I absolutely could not proceed forward. It would crash every couple turns, the entire game came to a crawl, and even playing the game in the cloth map mode still didn't help much. So basically so far the game has tons of potential, was fun overall, and I am generally happy with my purchase. With that said the game (at least my copy) was absolutely brok

That's based on subscribers, not households. Each subscriber serves more than one person (in most cases) ie a household. That wiki article stinks because the h.p. (house hold penetration) is blank for most of them...which doesn't make sense. Anyways, last time I went online and researched it something like 70% (or more) of households have broadband in just about every 1st world country out there. And obviously I don't have 'data' for this...but I would imagine the

You can see how well it works when you can go out and buy an Xbox with an upgraded HDD and a ton of games and a mod-chip at the flea market. They're getting the PS3 to run pirated stuff according to reports I've read. Where there's a will there's a way, and unfortunately a lot of people have the will to play software they haven't purchased.
T

And in a sense that model is a form of DRM in the first place. DRM is nothing more than a deterrent. I admire Brad's intentions though (focusing on the customer), and I think it's a good mod
Wow you are quite delusional. Pirating software is thievery, it's illegal, and morally wrong. There is no argument you can make that justifies the action. You can rave and whine about it all you want, but you won't stop it that way. Not without any arguments. Learn to live with the fact of piracy, or don't. I don't care what nonsensical moralizing you use to feel outrage along with the rest of your privileged buddies. Doesn't affect pirate

It would have a negative effect on obsolete business models. Right. The industry as a whole would be just fine. It obviously doesn't work in the real world because the analogy breaks down. So a while back I was interested in pre-ordering the game to check it out early...but was advised against it by a few folks from the forum. Reason being was the beta was stated as in a very rough state and that it should not be used as a 'demo'. That was perfectly reasonable to me and I decided to wait rather than get annoyed with too many bugs/ect. However, I just purchased the game a bit ago since it is release now [e digicons][/e] With that said I came to
