So been having some Elemental issues and figured I would post my debug.err file to pastebin under the direction of Stardock mods. Anyways, just what kind of site is that? On the left hand I see a "Recent posts" section and half of them are links to things like "Teen sex", "Horse bestiality", and other craziness. How wise is it to send paying customers to a site that seems like some kind of pervert exchange lol????

When is a good time to review a game in general? The second they ask for money and offer the game to play. When is a good time to review Elemental? Who knows, but one thing is for sure, if it's going to be reviewed now it won't fair that well.

I get sound issues as well. If I play for like 1-2 hours the sounds start sputtering and eventually the sound FX goes away completely. If I quit and restart the game it's fine again. I have a Sound Blaster X-Fi sound card and have the audio options set to 5,1 surround. debug.err http://pastebin.ca/1927964

I'm also experiencing this...with 1.06 installed as well. My crashes were solved with 1.05 but the late game slow down issue still persists. I can't enjoy this game which really blows. It's *almost* there but with this issue there's no point even playing if I can't complete a single solitary game. Ugh...shitty. Is there something I should post (save game?) that would help the devs, or is the issue known and just needs to be fixed? debug.err:</

I don't blame them for deleting it because that "review" is just another shallow rant at Stardock's expense. And anyway, when something gets moderated, it's bad form to just post it again. I'll be curious to see the fanboi reaction when other reviews come out.

It's a terrible review either way...there was barely anything in there of substance.

"Blizzard is massive entity inside a much larger corporation, who basically eats money, with a side of money, on a money sandwich, while getting lap dances from women made out of money. 1 millions sales is more about having entire LEAGUES devoted to your game, massive advertising budget, and world wide distribution." The reason why they eat money sandwich's is because they make good, highly polished, fun games with lasting appeal. Also, Starcraft 2 is more than just Starcr

I think it's a huge exaggeration to say SC2 and Elemental are having the same issues on a whole. The game is very polished and complete in comparison. Yeah some people are having issues but I don't think it's anywhere near as much as what's going on here, nor are the issues as bad.

I don't know about everyone you listed, but Andy Mahood and Deslock are still doing their thing at PCG. They are doing more developer interview as well...they just had an interview with one of the Mount & Blade guys. Not about the game really, but more abstract about sand box gaming and how gaming has changed and how gamers have changed as well. I'm noticing more of these cool kind of stories lately. *edit* The Vede is obviously still gone, though.

I think the mag is relatively the same as it's always been, though admittedly for a while it was sliding somewhat. Even then it was still a good informative magazine to read. In recent months they seem to be recapturing the magic of the older issues and better editorials and are even giving space to some indie titles too. I was REALLY surprised to see Din's Curse in an issue couple months back. Regarding the initial article...I think the problems were severe and wide

PC Gamer is a great mag...while the tone of the initial article was more emotionally charged than I would like, it's hard to argue that the majority of what was said isn't true. I think the author felt the same sting of disappointment as most everyone else, and that found it's way into the article. Anyways, been reading the mag for like 10 years (maybe longer?) and it's the only gaming related material I read while I'm on the shitter :P

I'd really like to know more about this option as well and what the proper configuration should be, and what (if any) the effect actually is (and of course performance implications)

I voted for 'like it'...but only because I do have some disappointment in how the game was released. I'm pretty sure in a month I'll probably 'love it' but at this point in time it's not the case.

I'm not going to pretend the game was shipped in what I consider to be an acceptable state...with that said the actual game is fun and holds a huge amount of promise. I also have a great deal of confidence Stardock genuinely cares about their games and the game will be fixed very soon, and in reality the 1.05 patch already helped greatly. The point? Chill out and stop being so reactionary. You weren't ripped off...

I was wondering about the 64bit version...I remember it being mentioned a few times but when I installed the game didn't see anything indicating a 64bit version. So is one coming?

I had the same thing though to a slightly lesser extent...at around turn 300 the monsters on the map were just nuts. Not their strength, their sheer numbers. It actually get's kind of annoying. They really don't do much because your cities are most likely defended well at that point...but it's annoying having the respawn so fast like that. I dunno, guess there's some innate thing inside that makes me want to 'clear the land' of enemies and having them run through my ar

This is the first time I have seen this kind of negativity surrounding Stardock. I think 'ruined' certainly is an exaggeration, but I think some manner of damage has been done.

There does seem to be a double standard where big-name releases from major publishers are given a pass for similar things that Stardock is getting slammed for. I think part of that might be due to the same rea
