after pondering a lot i dont see a way around it imo (but i would be glad to be wrong) the way ai handles champions etc is too much wrong and too hard to improve priorities dont work on the long run because its too common to find something better in general but worst on the specific so we are stuck having magnar using axes and plate, relias building as warrior and casting fireballs and i really want to cry every time i see irane getting ai

yeah but what you dont seem to understand is that perfect and random arent exclusive one thing CAN be totally random and still perfectly balanced ofc i dont ask such perfection but asking something random AND balanced isnt asking the moon, imo :P btw i dont have anything against premade maps if they dont look too "plastic" and adapt well to the world im perfectly fine with them</

tbh while i have a good feeling with FE in general im a bit disappointed by the last betas, imo they are way under what was the goal for this time, and not enough improved in term of polish from the past ones, and balance/ai is still lacking

i m modding fe to have a lot more challenge in every aspect of the game, my monsters are so much tougher to kill and champions are weaker i like it rough... i can give you that playing with some handicap is more challenging but it isnt more fun imo, thats why i dont like strategic games with ai cheating too much, i rather play vs humans for the real challenge

well as for ai that would be risky too very risky you would have to give heal inj spell a high priority and a mana cost to balance things what happens very often is that ai has a crap champion that dies always, he gets tons of injuries and ofc ai will never be albe to understand he doesnt ahve to heal that crap champion(because it shouldnt just use that champion in the first place) so in the end ai will on average spend all his mana healing injur

the problem is there isnt in the game a magic dmg for earth things, so they do random stuff mostly resistable but still lets compare the n1 school of damage dealing burning hands cooldown2 dmg 8+4 per shard but HALVED if resisted range 1 mana cost 10 hurl boulder cooldown 3 dmg 8+2 per shard, but CANNOT be resisted range 3 mana cost 22

im just reading the new xmls and i notice monsters now all have defense all things that didnt have any def now have 1 1 1 so i guess devs just run a script on monsters to add the missing stats and some of the creatures are waiting a further balance probably anyway some other things seems much more balanced, like those that were missing blunt def (some elemental i think and somethine else i forgot)

i mean apart from despair which is op but i agree they have to be super strong casters so with just a small tuning it can be ok but now they have HUGE armor (at lvl 20 they have 20 def to everything.... kinda like drakes or stuff like that) 40+ initiative... i mean wtf, dark wizard 2 has 51 init...
