Came in here just to post what you said. This is definitely annoying.

It can be expensive, I wouldn't want it to be too easy to do, but I would also like to do something about all my damaged people.
Ditto

Updated my video card driver on that computer, and the avatars are still missing.
With one particular computer, I still cannot see my avatar in the selection screen, equip/trade screen, etc. This is a computer at work, so there is little in the way I can do in terms of drivers and such. But I thought you might want to know. Hardware ATI Radeon HD 5450 Software
Good God, they got Geoffrey Fieger for their lawyer (anybody near metro-Detroit knows that name). Nice knowing you, Brad and SD. Also, you need to give your people some raises. ;)
Rename it "Lord Banana Hammock." Think of the PR.
After teaching for many years, I have to say I REALLY don't like Khan Academy; much of the teaching is really poor. But if you're looking for an online repository for learning new subjects, it's a good start. There are other online places that do it much better, like Coursera or http://ocw.mit.edu/help/get-started-with-ocw/ .

Awesome. When is this set to get pushed out?
Quoting mdonais, reply 13I love the current road system. I enjoy spending more time on quests and armies and big picture stuff instead of little boring details like building roads. The current road system would be fine, if it built decent roads. See below for a textbook example of dumb road placement. The city to the top left is my capital. The city to the right, that all my traffic ha
I'd love more random events and more spells (you could always "study" spells from Magic: The Gathering). In fact, I would LOVE to see the different types of magic specialize in bringing down another (death magic vs. life, etc.). Random thought last night mid-puke: I would like the ability to make my explorers more like scouts (via upgrade, perhaps) in the sense that they could be used to scout the enemy armies w/out being an easy target for said enemy armies (either i
I am currently a mod for a big gaming company, and it definitely can suck. The two worst issues I have is enforcing rules that are complete bullshit; and enforcing rules that most "bosses" don't care about because they're bullshit, but then one day one of their bosses sees the bullshit and chews you out over it. Finally, my biggest peeve: the many morons have caused the vast majority of stupid crap on the forums (which resulted in the creation of the bullshit policies).<
I agree. Last game I played I started right next to Gilden, and about the time I found the first area that was capable of being settled there were three (no exaggeration) pioneers in a loose group exploring and settling the instant they could. This couldn't have been more than about 30 turns into the game. AI seems to adopt a vomit out pioneers, settle every damn place, and see what sti

I did not like Warlock. Also, I agree only in the sense that the viable beginning settlement locations are too sparse.
I voted excellent. The new city differentiation is awesome, although I suggest it more closely follows the tech trees: one specialization for civics (wealth, production, etc.), one for military, and one for magic. The new resource, Essence, is really cool. While it's going to take some time for me to get used to it and learn how to use it efficiently, it seems exceptionally sparse at the
When your settlement moves from a village (level 1) to level 2 you can choose its specialization -- Town, Fortress, Conclave. That choice determines what types of improvements your city has available to it. A town's improvements focus around getting you zee money and making zee food for itself and your other cities. Fortresses are geared around producing really good soldiers and being really
I like this direction. My wish/hope was for manual placement, but as long as it's not a separate window a la Civ, I'm happy. The cloth map looks amazing.
6. East should be on the right side of the map like anyone who is not in this game would expect and not on the top right corner. I don't understand why you think East in in the top right corner, we don't indicate direction. But we are switching from the 45 degree view in Beta 3 to something closer to a 15 to 30 degree angle. It makes the minimap less skewed, makes "north" appear north and ke
