I was in the same boat as you until I understood that Easy mode can actually mean Medium to Difficult in some aspects. I suggest you drop down on level (to Novice or Beginner-forget which) and set the distribution of food/materials/essence to dense. This latter option will make it easier (but not too easy) to find good areas for new cities. Once you get good at that level, move up one.

[quote who="vieuxchat" reply="25" id="3255682"] I've gotten a lot of questions from people over the past couple of years about why we are giving away Fallen Enchantress to the early adopters of War of Magic. They say people won't remember War of Magic (it was 2 years ago). They say it won't "buy" good will back from those who didn't like WOM. I do remember when WoM was only an idea on the forums. I do remmeber when there were

Awesome! Any news of making it easier to heal wounds for heroes?
The only semi-meh thing they stated I agree with is the tactical battle maps. More variety in mid-map placement of trees and rocks would create some cool choke points.

Dear Stardock: You sons of bitches, I am officially experiencing the "one more turn" syndrome. Curse/thank you.
When i pull up the training window for any city, and hover my mouse over the different Henchmen, their descriptions all read as if I am hovering over the Bard henchmen.
Oops, wrong forum. My fail.
While I agree, I don't think it needs a mega-nerf.

I hate when this happens to me. It's only happened 2-3 times, and only in beta 3 or 4, but it sucks.
This and Planetside 2 have become the first game since the era of Baldur's Gate, Planetside, and Knights of the Old Republic which I can't stop playing or shut up about.
Having played the latest build released to us, and knowing you have a few weeks to tweak I can confidently say "You nailed it." TM, patent-pending. Please do not stop the tweaks and communication so we can provide feedback up to the point of release. As of now, I would give the game a solid 8.5-9.5/10. FE is everything I wished WoM was, and way more.
I have tested these suggestions, and feel I am now much more competitive. That being said, this is still on "beginner" dififculty, and if it was this difficult for me to figure out on that setting, maybe this should be addressed.
I like this.
Thanks for the feedback, folks. I wish a member of Stardock will post in here and either tell me what else I am doing fundamentally wrong or if this feature of the game requires a tweak.

[quote who="TorinReborn" reply="21" id="3239906"]No there are other way to play. Like take a faction with good fighting sovereign and take him around on leveling spree. I've been playing many matches where I try to focus on a mix of technologies, just military, or just magic, and my factions' toughness (or whatever that number is in the upper-right corner) is always so low the other factions pick on me until they finally steamroll and kill me. I have tried spamming pioneers to create new cities, spamming pioneers to build outposts to capture resources, only settling on tiles with 8+ total resources, etc. OK, so I figure I will focus only on C
This would be awesome.
