Is this related to the faction description not showing when clicking on a different tab and clicking back, or should that get its own thread?

When creating a custom faction, typing in a name and then changing the Empire/Kingdom designation reverts back to the random name assigned. Similarly, it would be nice if it would remember that I set a custom skin and hair color while changing races, instead of reverting to the standard for that race.

I played WOM through the beta up through release. I played a few of the patched versions, but did not play the beta to Fallen Enchantress. I'm really excited to see where they went with the series, and see how it stacks up. As for being a financial success, time will tell. Its currently sitting at #42 in steam sales - just below Counter Strike: Source and just above Fable 3 and The Witcher 2. It should spike when it releases this afternoon - I'm guessin

One thing that Diablo does that Elemental could do is progressive unlocks. Say that you have to win a game with a particular race to unlock the next race. Or maybe you have to do something specific in game (cast 25 fireballs) to unlock a pyromancer soveriegn trait. This would add some game-to-game progression that could add to the addiction level of Elemental.

If you know how to run a business, Diablo 3's market is your friend. Before we get there, though, lets look at WoW's item progression: Item Found -> Item Auctioned -> Item Used -> Item Sold/Destroyed/Forgotten about. D3, however, goes like this: Item Found -> Item Auctioned -> Item Used -> Item Auctioned - Item Used -> .... -> Item Sold/Destroyed/Etc. The main thing to notice is that Diablo 3 has a huge item over-abundance

Can we get a direct game example comparison between city spamming and not, at a set game time limit, with minimal/no ai opposition? It would be interesting to see when one is ahead of the other, and by how far.

I'm not really sure this needed a new thread, or that this dog needed further beating, but here goes: Supporting something is separate from following it. I support Alcoholics Anonymous, but that does not mean that I don't drink! The Gamer's Bill of Rights is a set of ideals. If Stardock, as a publisher, finds it in their interest to release on Steam, then they have to play by Steam's rules. You can play by the rules and still lobby against them.

Ah, the separate RCA jacks would be awesome! About $40 more, though. I will have to think about that. Thanks for the thought!

I've got an old 2.1 logitech speaker set for my desktop at the moment, but I'm having some faulty wiring issues with one of the satellites and I was thinking this would be a good time to migrate to a more traditional audio setup that I could also use for my record player. Right now I'm thinking I will go cheap cheap when it comes to speakers and amp, especially as I'm no audiophile and I have to keep the volume under control for the room mates. ..The thing is, I&

It's not "similar art styles." No, that's what I mean. Until your post, it didn't seem the games look identical. I look at the two and see them visually different. I actually find this to be a legitimate question. At the moment, I suspect that Stardock will make no open moves to support other clients until Impulse has fully transferred over into Gamestop's control. The relationship between Gamestop and Stardock is beneficial beyond Impulse as well, so my guess would be that they remain Impulse exclusive for the time being. I also severely doubt they will do cross registering with Steam - very few games do this as it stands, and Sta

I've heard a lot about Dwarf Fortress, and seen a lot of comparisons between it and, well, every other game containing building, simulation, or remotely related to the fantasy genre. To start, I've installed the latest "lazy noob pack," as I am both lazy and a newb. I know there are lots of tutorials, but having mastered all three Sims games, I feel fully confident to diving straight in. I'm ready for all the "Fun" I can handle. First, to setup the world. [quote who="Kodiak888" reply="57" id="2926228"] Repurposing 1 hat/dress/roll cage/whatever isn't worth the effort. Repurposing the entire team dedicated to making the large amount of hats could do some good. Let's say they spent $2000 on the salary of the artists who created everything. Now lets say the never did that, and have $2000 from the budget to do whatever with. They could release the level creator tools and have a contest for the best level designs. 1st prize

While the idea of "stripping out" content to sell later for a DLC sounds bad, think of it this way. Company X wants to make Super Meat Fighter V. They have narrowed down their possible character list to twelve solid choices. Based on how long it takes to make a character, Company X can only justify tasking their workers to make nine characters. Now, instead of waiting and making three characters after release, they can make them immediately for less of an increase in c

I've run BitDefender more recently, but cycle through depending on the cost efficiency at the time. Its almost at the point now, though, where it is easier to pull off problems as they happen as opposed to dealing with an anti-virus program all the time. Part of this feeling is from using Norton at work, though, and putting up with its constant nagging, virus-like tendencies.

I actually really liked the ARG. The sale tie in to Portal 2's release is a really, really good idea on Valve's part - they get a lot of increased traffic because they are releasing a new game, and are tying those sales in with sales of other indie games. That I could play these indie games and see Portal references, and get to participate in Portal 2's release, is really cool. Yes, Valve makes money, so it isn't "noble" of them, but it isn't evil, either
