O No!!!! Another appearance of the dreaded mouse wheel... My marble mouse has a scroll function attached to one of my buttons, but no actual wheel, so I am unable to zoom in and out in the Elemental Editor, as the game software doesn't recognize the mouse software commands. Hopefully it might work here... No worries though, I'm still working on my own stuff at the moment, so it'll be a bit before I take this for a spin. B

Well, to be fair, Mantle is for AMD GPU's with the GCN Architecture, so it has a limited audience currently. Hopefully the DX12 implementation will work on a wide array of GPU's, from multiple vendors.

Doesn't Mantle already do this? Nice to see that AMD was able to get MS to do something they probably should have already been doing.

I've tried starting Legendary Heroes directly via the program folder icon, but it still insists on launching Steam. Other Stardock games can bypass Steam. In fact, my Political Machine Install wouldn't run anymore through the Steam Client, but by changing my shortcut to the program.exe directly, it was able to run perfectly fine, with no Steam required/running in the background/starting up. My GalCiv2 and E:WOM installs are run directly from the EXE, and do not inv

Just a quick note. I'm still seeing things go wrong with population adders. In my latest game, my level 2 city became a level 4 city, with 165 population, skipping the level 3 upgrade entirely, even though level 4 usually requires much higher population to achieve. So that might not be the best way to go. My idea of repurposing food per grain I think is the safer bet... or y'alls specialist idea.

I'm running a somewhat clean install myself. I'm using some of Parrotmath's mods, my mods, and maybe one or two others. There's a bunch of mods I wouldn't mind installing, but I've been in modding mode for a while now. The stuff I'm tinkering with tends to change the game in rather significant ways, as I EVENTUALLY want to do a top to bottom mod of the game. Dunno if I'll ever finish that goal though. Also, as previously mentione

Bitcoin is well suited to AMD GPU's, Litecoin seems to work respectively well on recent versions of NVIDIA GPU's (recent AMD is still tops though). You'll probably get more bang for the buck with AMD, but NVIDIA works as well. Plus some people like NVIDIA's gaming performance better. https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparison Also, since the AMD GPU's have went up in price at t

You have the bitcoin, etc.coin miners to thank for the spike in high end GPU prices. High end cards are getting snagged up almost as quickly as they can be manufactured. This gives both NVidia and AMD welcome shots in the arm, but doesn't help us regular folks whose lives don't revolve around bitcoins...

Poking around the events/quest files, it occurs to me that while you can cue a cutscene/movie clip, you can't (at least as far as I can see) cue a sound clip. There's some possibility to cue a specific sound clip (other than an effect noise) when a goodie hut is clicked on, but that doesn't do quite what I had in mind here. It'd be cool if you could cue a short sound clip for events/quests, instead of a movie. This way, you could add some additional flavo

I see that ModDB has an unused page for Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes: http://www.moddb.com/games/fallen-enchantress-legendary-heroes/mods Is there any particular reason that moddb might be unpopular with the group? I see that some LH mods are being added to the Nexus Mods E:FE page (not a bad thing) http://www.nexusmods.com/fallenenchantress/? <p

I did some further testing. Two runs. This time, I was able to squeeze the +15 population in before the growth took the village above 50. Hubs functioned as normal, I chose a fortress just for fun. I took the town to 155+ population using growth only/no additional pop boosts from buildings to make sure the next upgrade level would take, it did. Then, I added +100 population to a workshop, started a new game, built the monument (47 population), let the populat

OK, so I just did a more extensive playthough. I had hoped to just boost the city population to 47, but due to a lair being in the way I wasn't able to clear the lair or build until the +15 population would have boosted it to 52 my city was sandwiched between water, two resources, and a lair. Never been in that situation before, but I digress). Well the city had the right population count, but showed a level 3 city. I continued playing until the population reache

I'm still experimenting on my end, as I may or may not be seeing some weirdness - boosting from 30 to 52 population (+20, plus + 2 from growth) did NOT bring up the city hub upgrade window. In the meantime, I think the key is to do Resource instead of City. My install is anything but vanilla at this point, and I'm still at 1.3 (the 1.5 crashing issues convinced me to not upgrade until 1.6, as I'd have to reconfigure a few mods I've bee

OK, so I was looking through quests, and I found a quest that modifies population. So, I tried the same string, adding +20 population, with the code below attached to a monument, and voila! 20 people showed up! [code="xml"] Resourc

I made a minor update to the spreadsheet file. I was having issues getting the row headers to float at the top. With some trial and error, I now have the headers floating correctly. File linked above has been updated. Information is still as of E:LH 1.2. If you see/know of any changes since then that I need to make, let me know.

A world that is not flat... I'm sure there were several reasons why the non-flat world model was abandoned, but I can't help but wonder how this would look with updated E:LH terrain coloring... The above image is an example of something that really brought home the sense of adventure and wonder in Elem

Apparently OnRPG has never heard of Elemental. Reading their review, they referred to Fall From Heaven a couple of times, but didn't mention Elemental once. I also searched their extensive article base, but didn't see anything Elemental related. That being said, reading their review there were a lot of things mentioned that had me thinking 'I wish Elemental did that/still did that'. Some of the interface screenshots looked very E:LH-ish to me.

This won't help here, but I just figured out EXACTLY how to do this... in E:WoM! E:WoM had Population Storage, with some buildings boosting the max population of a city (housing and hubs mostly). Essentially, you'd assign population container boosts to all other buildings, and lose the housing. The city pop cap would then grow with each building added, and prestige could function as normal to boost the city size. Unfortunately E:WoM is a dead game at this poi
