I think Boogieback said they were gonna try to get some moderation guidelines nailed down next week so they could open it up. can't wait, will be so much nicer than the traditional download and unzip method

it looks like a good system for 1v1 combat, but how does it apply to squads or companies? does the squad get one roll as if it were one unit? or does each individual unit in the squad have thier own roll? if I were doing it, i would have each unit in the quad have their own roll, if a group of 8 attacks another group of 8, then each unit receives one attack, 8v4, two attacks, and so on. i haven;t given it a ton of thought, so that might not pan out, but i think something needs to be d
the thing you have to keep in mind is this: FFH2 is no longer being worked on, it was developed over the course of years and is now in its "final" state. Elemental is brand spanking new with years of development ahead of it. Right now, FFH2 may be more stable on some systems, have deeper gameplay ect. ect. ect. but it got that way through developer commitment and community feedback and support. FFH2 is a great game, but its static. if there is something you don't like about it (and there are
i've only gotten horses in a couple games as kingdom, but i tell you what, seems like every time i play kingdom there are some frakin' worgs right around my starting area >.
Maybe you should also mention that FfH 2 is free, is a mod and thus not a professional product. So the expectations are different than if, say, I bought FfH2. As it is? Play FfH2. The graphics aren't as good. but the gameplay is much better at making sense. Also, it's free. Come back to Elemental in 6 months.
technicaly, FFH2 is only free if you already own civ4 + xpacks. you can get
I was thinking about FFH2 today, and all the negativity surrounding the Elemental release. perhaps it is because of my experiences with FFH2 and its modmods (RiFE and Wildmana) that the bugs in Elemental really don't seem that bad. the OOM CTD errors that Elemental has have been a staple of civ4 mods for years. people who played mods that added content beyond stock civ4 and its xpacks learned to deal with it. FFH2 is fairly stable now, in its "final" build, but it took
well considering how powerful things get as the game progresses they will have to make higher level stuff with better stats at the mid and high end of the game. I personally don't like that you can buy these items and they should be hidden away in dungeons and crypts and old castles with high level monsters and npc's guarding them. Now this is the part of the game that isn't like MOM cause that's what you had to do unless you used the forge
are you out of gold? i think they will desert if you can't afford to pay thier wages. check your kingdom screen.
it really is a great game. Like i've seen others here saying, I'm not sure i'm playing the same game as the more vocal nay-sayers. since updating to 1.05, I've not had a single crash and the only bug I've encountered is the auto-turn fast foward thing.annoying, but easy to fix once you know its there. (just turn off autoturn) having a blast playing too. I'll confess I've not finished a single game yet lol. I keep starting over so i can see how this race plays or how tha
it happens when you have autoturn enabled and all of your units are inside cities. work around is to either turn off auto turn, or keep at least one unit outside all the time untill they get it fixed. they said in the support forums that they know about it and are working on it.
i imported the naming scheme i use in space 4x games like Galciv and name them Peasant MkI, MkII, MKIII, MkIV ect. [e digicons][/e]
that could be it. its pretty rare that i don't have at least one unit out running about, but in this case i had just moved my sov and his army into town to rest, prolly didn;t have any others out and about. thanks for the info!
weirdest bug I'v ever seen, i hit the next turn button (was on turn 100ish) and it went to the next turn... then the next... and the next. obviously, this brought my PC to a crawl. when i was finaly able to force the game to close (alt-tabing then right clicking on the task bar icon and closing worked) it had jumped ahead to around turn 250. too bad, really. i was having an absolute blast that game, but the auto saves are from 150 turns after i last got to do anything [e digicons]X|[/e]
Absolutely. The shop UI is painful. Far too many clicks. You can cycle between characters without leaving the shop, but not when equipping items, or trading items. You should be able to sell, purchase, equip, trade items between your units all from the same screen. Did I miss some arrow buttons somewhere? Yes, there is a tiny arrow near the portrait of the champion you have selec
absolutely, i recomend this game. It's not perfect, and it has alot of room for improvement, but i can't remember the last time i was drawn into a game so completely. i played all afternoon and evening yesterday, even into the wee hours of this morning. the "one more turn" draw is quite strong.
its alot better in 1.05, but still has room for improvement. if you rush, you can wipe the ai out pretty easy, but seriously, what fun is that? it gets better in the late game. but like i said, still room for improvement.
i would like it if things were changed so notable locations and quests would simply not be visible until you had sufficient level. this would stop ALOT of confusion and just make things simpler.
your only recourse is to grow bitter and consumed with rage at a world that would allow such a tragedy. burn them all to have your vengeance!
is the "quest" tech line in the adventure tree. it alternates increasing your quest level and notable level. be carefull though, i've noticed often that notable lvl3 tiles show up pretty early in the game and if you push your adventure tech to be able to get them, you may get some pretty great rewards, but there are some combat encounters that you will liekly not be ready for. my lvl 3 sovreign with his small band of observers ran into a pack of 4 20+ hp spiders with something like 15 attack
yeah, clickdrag has become my scroll method of choice. it works quite well inspite of it not being something im used to. its gotten to the point where i try to clickdrag all sorts of things like webpages and spreadsheets lol :P
oh well, building land bridges with raise ground is more satisfying to me anyways :P
will the faction editor allow us to make a sovereign for a custom faction with rule-breaking stat budgets like the other stock sov's have?

notable location level and quest level are separate from your character level. you raise them by researching Adventure tech. its the middle tech, forget what its called, but its not recruiting and not the line that adds resources. it alternated between noticeable and quest levels each tier.
