units heal slowly while in your own territory, don't think they have to be stationary, just can't leave your borders. its not as fast as in a city tho, something like 1hp/turn

yesterday's patch was a quick fix for some of the more pressing issues. today's patch is the big day-0 patch they have been working on for quite some time now.

"Fewer resources are spawned at the start of the game" that surprised me a little bit. resources seem pretty scarce as it is, seems like 9 out of 10 games i start with a single patch of fertile ground, and then no other recources for weeks in any direction. (unless its worgs when I'm playing kingdom, that happens WAY to often, imo). still, maybe this will even it out and i won't be so quick to start a new game hoping for that 1 in 100 where
no, its not your reputation, there are certain techs in the Adventuring tree that up your notable level, same as there are others for your questing level. im not sure which ones specificaly tho. felt a little random to me and it doesn;t say anywhere.

[quote who="Verkinix" reply="16" id="2727001"]I actually find it annoying when esc doesnt open the menu in games. I was playing AOE3 last weekend and kept trying to press escape to exit the game or pause the game and nothing. It would be nice to have key bindings though. I wish the arrow keys moved the camera (or better yet, wasd with qe for rotation). The pre 0 patch version has alot of mouse camera jittering when moving and side scrolling doesnt seem as smooth as it should be. Click-drag-mo

It was equally annoying in that game. Hop into planet screen to tweak something, instinctively hit ESC to get out and boom, options screen, then you're wasting time moving the mouse to close TWO windows instead of one. Never played

glad im not the only one bothered by the escape key. i must have clicked "back to game" a hundered times yesterday!

children are strong? all my kids have been weaklings with rather sad stats. pretty much 10 across the board. except for the one daughter who started at lvl 1 with thirty (30!) HP. ugly little bastards to.
its an indie game going up against a 500 pount gorilla (civV), most reviewers are going to see it through that lense. not much can be done about it. besides, the game ISN'T that impressive just yet. it has great potential, but if they are reviewing with the gold version, then its probably not in great shape. most reviewers don't review based on what a game could become with proper support, they review based on what a game is at this moment. its unfortunate, and puts indie studios at a

Its the attitude in which those things are being raised. Saying Stardock has sold out, is lazy, m
good guess, its on the left side. i didn't even think of that, i'll try moving it around when i get off work. still, i LIKE my taskbar on the left, would be nice if i didn't have to move it for one game (even if it is an amazing one) :P
I am having this same issue, "clip cursor to screen" does not fix it. actualy, the only way i can scroll with the mouse-to-edge is up, all three other directions are broken. also, i get a bug when i launch the game where the cursor is stuck on the far left of the screen and i have to alt tab out and back in to fix it. minor quality of life issues, but still a little annoying. I know i can click and drag, and im retraining myself, still annoying tho.
alot of good points here. I wager much if it is addressed in the day 0 post, but still, thanks for the writeup. while i experienced many of the same issues, it did not stop me from enjoying the game. it took me a good long time to muddle through the basics, but i think i have those now. the game is VERY fun, and the "One more Turn" aspect is HUGE. Elemental has great potential, and given continued support from stardock, and modding support from the community, there seem
I don't see why criticizing certain elements of the game is mutually exclusive with being a fan of the game and its developer. In fact, I'd say that the more you like a company or its product, the more constructive criticism you should be willing to give in order to help make a product better. Back when i was paying my bills playing the bar scene in a band, the absolute worst thing i could think of at the end of the night was blind(or deaf) fanboy/girls. thanks for the response.
are preorders getting thier emails as they are processed then? or do we have to wait for the whole batch to finish?
OP does have a point. I'm super stoked that we get this game early, and i'd be just as excited if we all had to wait till Tuesday, but when the devs tell you it'll be out at a certain time, that lends itself to consumer expectations. and anytime expectations are not met, things get a little ugly. personally, i cleared my schedule for today on the word that preorders would get the game around midday. it wasn't a big deal, but i ended up with a pretty boring afternoon. again, not a huge deal, b
is there a time frame on pre-orders? I would have been in the beta in a heartbeat, but somehow (don't ask me, i can't figure it out) this game completely eluded my notice until about a week and a half ago. would really have liked to be part of the process, the more i read about it, the more interesting it sounds. I've done alot of betas, but they were all stress tests or marketing stunts, would have liked to be part of a real testing beta. OH WELLS, theres always the next game.
