[quote who="Frogboy" reply="343" id="2790412"] Quoting solidsmooky, reply 342You guys are completely brainwashed. Civfanatics is like the No More Mutants of Civ forums where they have insane and aspergers people sperg out about the craziest thing. Civ 5 is a better game in every way and I think Stardock realizes this since they're pulling inspiration from the game. To say otherwise is being just as bad as the psycho civfanatics people. Solid, I'm really getting kind of tired o

all valid points and I respect your opinion. Luckily I can get both. I do think that Civ V brings more changes--and welcome ones--over previous versions. It's not a minor update at all. I'd get it just for the updated graphics and hexes... [quote quoting="post"] Money has been tight lately, as most of you can probably understand in our current economic climate. that's weird, because I usually can't even find another race for at least 200 turns. I usually only bump into one minor race. Everyone seems spaced way out...

Because the 35 page leaflet that comes with the game is just woefully inadequate for a huge game like this. I know that any issues with the game will be addressed as time goes by, but the poor manual is kind of etched in stone. Any chance of a proper tome worthy of Elemental? Even just a pdf?

[quote who="Ahroo" reply="8" id="2753790"]2-3 years is just insulting. They waited about a couple of months before they finally reviewed Mount&Blade Warband. Another game that was in the same boat as this one. They also did the same thing to another game, I think it was GTA4? Where they reviewed it but didn't give it a final score till they threw in the multiplayer and finished the game. And rerwrote the review and scored it the next month. I don't see why they can't do the same here. I j

they should make it so if you pick one school of magic you are more powerful in that one school. But if you pick many schools, you get a larger variety of spells, but each is weaker. (This of course would only work if the spells were very varied.)

I think a good system would be this: If you put down a city where there are no resources at all, and don't set up a trade caravan to supply it, each level that the city is should produce -1 food, and -1 materials. That would begin to eat away at your growth if you continued to build like that, and it would make you think more about food and materials resources before you build.

archers should at least get a max range...say, they can hit up to six squares away with a shortbow, and nine squares away with a longbow. Something like that. I hate that they can shoot any square on the combat grid.

[quote who="Vhorthex" reply="21" id="2751247"] Thing is, given the fact that you CAN build cities in the middle of "nowhere", and that the AI CAN also. This doesn't' fit in very well into the Galciv2 concept where, you can only build colonies on planets. If you use that analogy and reverse it, it would mean that following elemental rules you could build a "colony" in the middle of nowhere in space. And like I said, the AI will do this practice. Anyways, I don't want to debate this too mu
