way more game set-up options for the world would be great. :) also, an Elemental version of ctrl-N would be great to regenerate the map after start-up.
Here are some issues thus far. 1. Game feels very stiff, the text for quests is boring & sometimes does not even corelate to the yes or no responces.... 2. Treeties need more vercitility cash for tech, tech for cash or even piece for chash /tech 3. Spells & spell book needs shortcuts as its very tedious with too many clicks.
That's I think a route Elemental needs to take. Not try to mimic Civ but try to mimic and allow for the 'quirky' cities we see in fantasy worlds. What if there was a type of faction that could -only- build in forests (treetop villages like stereotypical fantasy elves) or only mountains (dwarves). What if we could actually build great walls and such (again, Helmsdeep or the actual Great Wall). Fantastical things in a fantasy world and the game mec
I wish there was no campaign at all. 4X games are all about sandbox mode. No one ever complains about a lack of a campaign in the Civ games.
I call the next one: "Shards, shards, shards..."
I have to agree with Brad here, but I feel you may be missing his point. I'm all about--as I suspect Brad is--making fewer specialized cities and growing them, rather than just covering every square inch of the map as fast as you can with pretty much worthless cities..."infinite city sprawl" is something that makers of 4X games strive to prevent. The way Elemental seems to have done this is by making generic land tiles pretty worthless, with a few special tiles aroung which you sh
"Spiritual Successor" is a relative term. Spiritual Successor != remake or sequel it just means they both involve magic.
... but what REALLY infuriates me, is when I'm in a thread reading about legitimate complaints (usually in the ones about framerate slowdowns on PCs like my own - I'm there trying to find out if its being addressed, and/or if anyone has any temporary fixes) - and rabid fanboys rush in, usually the same 4-6 names - it is sad I can recognize them after a few days, isn't it? - and start shouting about how the game is perfect, there are no problems, p

With magic being as basic as it is, I haven't wanted to completely trivialize experiencing it by taking all the books and seeing it all in one game.
another useless hate post. Probably forever. They're still updating Galciv2 and that's five years old.
All Brad owes the OP is his $50 back. so take it. That's MUCH more than any 'mainstream' game developer would ever get you. Good luck return a Civ game if you don't like it...
Just wanted to say thanks for the game, its very fun and I can see even more potential with the mods in the future. I love supporting Stardock when they make good games. There is alot of depth to them, they might not be flashy or have tons of hype behind them, but sure can make some awesome games with fun and deep strategic gameplay. Also I respect how they patch things so well and listen to the community. So far i am really enjoyed my
I don;t know if theres an appropriate forum to ask this in but could a mod explain why my "Why was the game released early" post was deleted? I didn't attack anyone personally or use bad language. Are you deleting posts for content? Seems like 90% of posters are disgruntled Elemental purchasers...the people who love it are too busy playing to post. :)
Wow, this is the first thread like this I've seen. [e digicons][/e] please lock.

Usually in last third of any such game it's either clear win or clear loss. But I agree with the OP. I always have this feeling the world i
While Elemental was certainly released before it was really finished, here's how I see it: I could buy it now, and have a half broken game to fiddle around with while they finish it and turn it into a great game in a couple of months. Or, they could have taken a couple of months to really polish it and release it then. Either way, I'll have a great game in a couple of months, but at least now I have something to mess around with if I wa
