Just wanted you guys know that I've been testing the latest build out and it's looking good enough for a beta. No one's at the office to stage/release it but it's looking a lot better. We'll be pretty interested in hear feedback on it. It's definitely a beta but it also has a lot of bug fixes and performance improvements in it too. The UI improvements will probably be one of the things users notice right away though. I'
So, I was at war with Umber, and a couple of times I talked to him to try to negotiate peace. I noticed that the first time I did, he had about -8000 gildar...then later we spoke again, and he had -14,000 gildar! How was that happening and shouldn't it have some negative effect on his empire? He was kicking my butt by the way.

Now that the caravans create money and not food, how do we make up for that lost food in the game? Will there be more food resources? What's making everyone think there's no AI in the 1.1 beta? the patch notes clearly say that the AI is now multi-threaded, so it should be better. It's just that Brad's very latest changes won't be in yet. But they still improved the AI. Where is the confusion coming from
+ There is now the concept of a game year, which starts at 159 A.C.. There are 4 seasons in a game year. A turn is a season. Game year and season are now displayed in the upper left hand corner of the main game wnd, instead of turn num.
THIS is cool! I've wanted a concept of calendar dates instead of turn numbers since the beginning.
I think if you just put an amount of gold on their side of the trade table, and nothing on yours, it's seen as a demand for money...
