Game company releases game. They put out a series of bug fix patches for a bit and then they move on until it’s time to get you to buy an expansion pack or two until it’s time to do a sequel.
This part reminded me so much of Creative Assembly and Empire Total War, which I bought, that I laughed... then cried. Anyway, looks good, keep it up! I assume that since the beta is within a week that this won't be

I finally found one to hire, but the rest are all labled as "Champion" without names and unrecruitable. Also, I killed one and got the popup that says you killed a champion and now the world hates you.

My main point is that caravans should provide boosts to the rest of the kingdom's economy, not just food. I am perfectly fine with a food bonus, but I also want at least a gold bonus to simulate the economy boosts that trade between cities would have. It even says that caravans provide gold in the description and in the unit quote, but they don't. Like I said it should be an easy fix so get to it devs!

I've tried to point this out and ask if this is a problem before. I don't know if the devs are aware but caravans only produce a food boost and I was wondering if this was the way they meant it. During the betas caravans could produce a boost for any resource the city was producing, be it gold, food, metal, or materials and I think thats the way it should be. Caravans need to provide a boost to all resource production to better simulate the benefits of trade. Providing

I would love to see that too. Right now the devs do not want to change that the death of the Sov is game over, but there is no reason why the faction can't be split amongst the heirs when the Sov is killed. The faction should cease to exist politically, but the cities and people shouldn't just disappear.

My brother watched me go through the beta process and he decided long ago to get it once it came out. However, he couldn't do the beta then because he was busy and now is still busy enough that he just doesn't have the time to play it. Don't worry though, I'll nag him until he buys it and he'll thank me for it! [e digicons][/e]

Are caravans supposed to provide more that just a food boost between cities? In the betas they provided a boost to gold, materials, and metal, so is it a bug or was this changed on purpose?

We really need a building that provides a certain amount of gold based on the number of people in the city, like a tax office. I don't mean a set amount for the building, but one that generates a changing amount based on the population. Right now I look at the masses and all they are good for is recruitment, which gets replenished fairly fast in high level cities. Something like providing 1 gildar per 100 people would be good, making it only worthwhile at high level cities a

Yes they do provide a food boost, provided that city already produces food. What confuses me is that caravans don't provide any other bonus. In the betas they provided a boost to whatever the city was producing, so that included gold, materials, and metal. What happened, is it a bug?

I just wanted to put this out there in case nobody else has. Our sovereign's children should be allowed to marry the champions we recruit. I really do not like the only option being to marry children to another faction. I want the option to say if relations with that faction are important and I should give up my daughter or I should be able to say that I want to keep her in the faction and still have a way to continue the royal bloodline. This would also prevent so muc

We need to allow daughters to marry male champions of our kingdoms. I don't like that the only way for daughters to reproduce is to marry them off and lose them and their children to another faction. More options (marry champion or marry into another faction for other benefits) is always better in my opinion.

I really think that you guys and the PC Gamer writer are over reacting. I have had virtually no problems with the game since the last beta and to claim that the majority of people are experiencing game breaking problems is just wrong. Maybe the majority of people who post in these kinds of threads legitimately experience problems, but the vast majority of people have little to no problems. People who have problems, even rare ones, are vastly more likely to post abo

Yes, thanks for the hard work over the last few days. I didn't realize Elemental would cause such a reaction by certain gaming sites. Am I even playing the same game? I have had little to no problems with the game and eagerly await your return for AI updates! Also, since this was my first time being a beta tester for a game, I feel to a lesser degree the way you do about the game. The beta testers and developers have put so much time and energy into this g
The campaign is still messed up. I couldn't get past the barrier. I restarted the campaign after this update, and what happened? This time the camp to them critters I was to kill (after the docks) didn't "spawn" so I couldn't continue! Sheeesh...common guys! This is the VERY beginning, and we can't play!
I kind of had the same problem, but I just hung around Procipinee for a turn or two and the next

It seems to me that you defeated that empire fairly quickly. I hope the pacing isn't too fast and the factions have time to research and explore before war is even considered by the AI. Other than that, can't wait to play!

I wasn't necessarily talking about modding, I meant these controls and map sizes for the random map generator before you start a new "sandbox" game. I don't really like the idea of making too many of my own maps because I'll know what to expect before I play on the map. Thanks for the replies though, I think astrath anwsered my question best, though I still don't know if the large map we already have is the largest there will be.

6 Replies 5,227 Views

I feel that the Large map size is still too small. Is there going to be a huge and/or immense size of map in the base game (ie 32-bit version) like GalCivII? Right now I think the large map still gets populated much too quickly and doesn't leave any room for adventuring or wild untamed land. The only way to adventure is to ask many other factions for military access and even then all you do is explore their civilized areas. It would help to be able

I found that out too. I tried to ask if it was a bug but I got no response. Is markets costing food a bug? I hope it is because with food being so scarce you need all you can to support population and markets don't even support population so I don't even bother to build markets, there are other ways to get gold other than wasting food.

I think ships need to be customizable just like land units. You shouls be able to change out faster or slower masts for movement, lightly armed or heavily armed crewmen, or weapons such as onboard catapults and ballistae. Maybe even have some ships with spellcasters to increase movement or help in combat with healing or fighting. Also, I think may have been suggested, but there needs to be different types of fish, shrimp, and crab resources out in the ocean that could be h

I found that markets cost one point of food, is this a bug? I find it is not worth it to build a market then and I don't see the reasoning that they would cost food, they don't support population.

What happened to rivers? I saw them in Beta 1, then they disappeared and haven't come back. Are they going back in somtime? They are an important terrain feature that shouldn't be left out.

My city built a water shrine and it completed and gives me control, but the graphic didn't change. Also the forest disappeared after loading my savegame. I went to a quest site and got the quest for Alzor's (?) Armor. I ended up losing the battle to the spiders and after the battle ended it said I lost the battle, then a message popped up that said I have the armor, even though I lost the battle, then it crashed. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5133204/Elemental/Bugs%26Crashes/Elemental0_92-2010-07-19T22-40-59-284.zip </p
