[Customization] Ships Need to be Customizable Units

I think ships need to be customizable just like land units.  You shouls be able to change out faster or slower masts for movement, lightly armed or heavily armed crewmen, or weapons such as onboard catapults and ballistae.  Maybe even have some ships with spellcasters to increase movement or help in combat with healing or fighting.

Also, I think may have been suggested, but there needs to be different types of fish, shrimp, and crab resources out in the ocean that could be harvested for food.  Also trade route establishing ships as sea trade and river trade is extremely important for medieval type cultures like this game.  Ships can then be outfitted with fishing equipment ot extra cargo space for trade.

I feel the whole maritime part of the game is severely lacking and so far seems completely ignored.  That is just wrong as the sea and rivers should be important sources of resources and tarnsportation. 

I wonder if this idea would be considered a new feature or if it is easy to implement in the current game system?  I can't express enough how much I think this aspect of the game needs to be more developed.

One of the planned expansions is going to focus heavily on the sea stuff, so I wouldn't expect much in terms of changes for release. Ship customization will be nice when they (and water) become more important, but at the moment their only function is transport so that doesn't warrant a customization system. Would definitely be a good addition for when sea stuff has more to do and matters more.

There will be an expansion coming in February.

Whether it will involve the Sea-Lords or not I cannot yet say ;)

wouldn't be so hard for a ship editor now but in terms of uses nothing yet till that xpack.

maybe expansion bring us some water folk, and water terrain will spread as other two types of terrain?

and ships will be only transport for land units to across seas and atack water-folk hamlets

so, maybe water-folk races will be able to build some land units, like land ships, or even flying, with tank of water on wheel :D

It seems to me that there are many features more important than water now, and that could easily be an expansion update.
