I'll use a 10-points metric for this one, if I may, where 0 is "total disappointment" and 10 is "I'd love to take it to my bed, cuddle with it and fall asleep with its box in my arms". These are all games I can still remember having bought in 2010; notably good (8 or greater) items in green , notably bad ratings (2 or less) in red . At release (initial excitement and first one or two days)
MrManny
I won't be around on Sunday. Would you be willing to publish an abstract of the conference afterwards? Also, please keep us posted about upcoming talks, if there are any.
What a joke .i got ripped -off stardock ,thanks for nothing.
Your post is quite a joke as well. When do I get a refund for the time I spent on reading it?
Just happened in a game: I was threatened to pay zero Guildar, or else... :-) Not really a breaking issue; actually, I was highly amused. http://yfrog.com/iyzeroguildarj
XML is not procedual.
It doesn't have to be. The semantics can still be described; it's just up to the engine to process and evaluate it.
I have already started on fleshing out Ultima Online's map on a medium-sized map. I'll try to get it up once it's roughly done - it could, at very least, be used for SP skirmishes or any other shinanigans that come to one's mind.
Hi there, I have been playing around with the map editor for some minutes and watched the XML output. I think I'm grasping what happens there, but I'm still puzzled by the TileData element. Maybe someone can help me out there? For instance, I would have something like this: 2665 ,1,0,0.000000,0, 6 <
Hi there, I am sort of out of ideas. I have attempted to play five to ten non-campaign games on easiest level so far, but somehow I always end up drawing the short stick after the first 200-300s turns: any other AI player dislikes me and just love to threaten every coin out of me or declare war right away. Despite war-related technolgie being my primary one, I usually end up outnumbered, outequpped and/or overpowered. Either I lack the technologic advance of my co-players or I lack th
I am confused. Are you looking for support or trying to sell project managment solutions?
I hate to be that guy [tm], but the trailer and its shortcumings (as well as reasons and suggestions for alternative ones) has already been discussed here .
It's going to be high on our list to release no matter what because we want to have tactical battles available as a stand alone game mode because THAT is fun for a large percentage of people.
I like that idea. Out of curiosity, would it be possible to hint at a tentative order of things that get addressed in a week or two from now, besides the usual patching and hotfixing as problem reports are filed?
This guy likes to be a little rough on reviews. He thought Deus Ex... MGS4... and so many other games sucked.
There's nothing wrong with criticizing things even if they are great. The entire scientific community is based on that principle. I can see why the supposedly bad math was called out, namely - as one of the previous authors put it:
the multipliers being literally multiplied together instead of added is counter-intuitive.

Wing IDE
Ohh, neat. Thanks.
Oh, I should clarify. I'm talking about the web series show called The Guild.
Oh. :-o Then I must withdraw my comment :)
Agreed, The Guild is an awesome series.
Yes. But I believe The Guild 2 is somewhat too different in terms of mechanics. That, and the load of bugs/twitches/hiccups make it less "enjoyable" than the first installment in the series. But that's just my personal opinion. I still think that both games are good though.
A good read, but somehow less entertaining than the previous one, if I may be honest. Then again, I guess there is little room for humor in the light of heated, game deciding skirmishes. Does this conclude the game play example journal, or is there more to come?
Wayyyy better than Ultima Online
Blasphemy! Thou shall not speak ill of Ultima Online!
My list of questions already numbers in the 50's or 60's. In fact if anyone would like to compile a list of questions I'll work them in with my list of questions and we can squeeze as much info out of him in 2 days as possible...hehe.
If this is the case, you might want to consider giving him the list early, so he has some prep time in case there are questions that cannot be answered off the top of his memory.
At the risk of hubris, no one knows the XML stuff like I do.
How does the game treat XML namespaces? If I, for instance, introduced an annotation element/attribute and employed it in the game's XML files using a different namespace than the rest of it, (how) will this affect XML processing?
Can you give us a timeframe EST, Froggy? Like 8-4? 10-2? Etc?
Good question karma™, coming right up. Also, I second that question.
I will. And as Othello put it:
...regardless of the disinterest.

Dragons (and other über monsters) should only be controllable for a limited time, until they turn on you / fly away / cease to function (golems/constructs). Such limited time monsters also shouldn't be able to heal, so that it would be worth it to actually battle them rather than just run away with all units.
+1; I approve of this idea.
Write a plot that can be refined into a campaign for Elemental :P
Somewhat semi-off-topic, but... are there any IDEs for Python that can be considered recommendable? As one of those pesky .NET developers, I'd prefer anything that remotely resembles a contemporary version of Visual Studio (I'm looking at you, Intellisense).
Can I please buy and download this game now? If its gold why wait for the download?
I believe they are still working on their 0-day path that should fix some stuff here and there for a better gaming experience. Plus, I think they are sadistic and love to tease and torture us; specifically you and me.
