As long as it's 60 useful and significant spells, then it'll be enough. Just think about how many useless spells there were in MoM - spells you never even bothered to use. If it's 60 spells along the line of healing, web and phantom warriors it'll be just fine.
Did they put in Lycanthropes? The game must have regenerating Lycanthropes (in case you don't know what Lycanthropes are they are Werewolves). I remember in M

I've never really liked units "leveling up" as this turns the game into exploiting things that are easier than others (Or likein AOW you chop an enemy unit up with your fodder only to let your Leader kill it for maximum exp which is gamey). I like a game where a pawn remains a pawn and you must use strategy not gamey tactics to win the battles.

Oh lord anything but priority mail. I used to work for the Post Office in the Distribution center no less and let me tell you priority mail gets treated like it's a plague. There are what they call cans about 10'-12' away from the postal employee behind the conveyor belt. I've seen these guys play football with priority packages and slam them in the back of those cans. If they suspect their was food in some of those packages they would really slam them into the back thus busting some o
You seem to be the real troll in this thread.
Actually no I'd say you were since you admitted you know nothing about the two games. Thus you have no real ammunition to make accusations about him or the games or anyone else. At least he provided some links to view. I personally look for user information an accept it long before I accept the biased reviews of palm fed socalled professional reviewers. I'm another that actually agrees Mom is t

Well I wouldn't go so far to say the Beta isn't a demo. It is a demo in a sense of what the game is like in the Beta. ;) Beta is just unfinished but doesn't mean it isn't a demonstration which is what demo means anyway.

There isn't a Floating Island spell like in MOM? I remember I used to take like 1 earth, 2 sorcery and the rest death just so I could get the floating island from earth and counter magic from sorcery and then all the neat goodies from death magic the bestest and most funnest class to play. :)

Wars do include figing for cities though to get to those relics Hound. I think it was Guerring who had all those famous paintings and relics from Paris during WW2. :) Random cities are also resources of population and production. Everything is viable and should be not just the quest for the holy grail.

As always I will always want better an improved AI strategy & tactics models or more difficulty levels. Things that will always keep the game challenging like GC2. Always want more races/nations like Civilization III & IV up to 15 I think it were. Also want more options on how the game is played. I'm not a fan of if the sovereign dies the games are over. Age of Wonders Origional gave us this CHOICE. We could put the leader/sovereign OFF the MAP and then one had to conquer the

The best diplomacy game I ever played where diplomacy was fun and worked was "War of the Lance". Each neutral/minor nation had a factor you had to reach to bring it toward you or toward the Dark Queen or stay neutral. Also, each neutral/minor/major nation had diplomatic POINTS you could use to influence those nations albeit only 1 or 2 at a time and then as you got more and more minor/neutrals to join you they had diplomatic points to help you with as well. Over the period of the game one wou

I like a more realistic setting with few power units (dragons, balrogs, sky drakes (you get the picture) and more low to medium class units as in reality would be present moreso than hundreds of power high level units. So, keeping city populations down and not allowing city spamming can keep the game in this limelight. Nobody should be able to run about the board with stacks and stacks of power units like dragons and balrogs and sky drakes. Perhaps one or two IF they find the SPELL that can c

Just because they're close together release wise and are a bit more similar doesn't mean they're copying. If Civ5 came with a pewter dragon, OTOH...
I'm with BlackhatHedgehog on much of this. Each city costs more to build than the next. It's just that you start with so much $$. I popped it up to 1000 to start to give myself a little extra time to start doing a proper job on the balancing of the cities because, the economic buildup is ridiculously slow right now. There won't be a "tax" system per say. Instead, we need to reward players more for building up

Special Editions and Collectors editions of games were around long before Stardock and Elemental. CIV V isn't copying Elemental they are coping other productions that were around long before Stardock an Elemental. I have pewter figurines and a nice gold tin box collections from Everquest mmorpg editions and cloth maps from Ultima's and a huge Lord of the Rings map from War of the Ring editions. So this is nothing new nor is it because of Elemental.

The food feature is WAD and I am all for how it makes it hard or harder to build cities/towns up. Too many gamers turn into a rush to power and don't play the low or middle game because of it. Keeping cities/towns low on food was a great idea and I knew Brad would come up with a design to make and keep the game challenging and fun from the low level up. History shows that those who migrated from their normal place of abode had to migrate thousands of miles before finding the right and proper
O.K., but it's important to the guys making Elemental - they do consider large-scale multiplayer one of their " must-have " features, this is not Galactic Civilizations 3-with-magic.
Putting a large scale multiplayer element into the game has nothing to do with sacrificing single player experiences for it. Anyone can put a huge multiplayer element into a g

You're suppose to travel around until you find a fertile ground tile. It helps if you RTFM as it tells you this in it. This game is not going to be like the other easy kiddie games of the past. It's going to take awhile even quite awhile to build up towns to extreme levels so you're not going to get to puff the magic dragon so fast in this one.

In the creation of Elemental what is the one thing you are proud of the most in the near final version? Do you think your ai in this game is better than Creative Assemblys, Paradox and Matrixgames games? What's the one thing you could say to the development community to make future games better? Would you ever consider doing an ancients or medieval game ala Rome Total War or Medieval Total War only turn based like GC2 and now soon Elemental?

Oh I understand what I wrote and I understand what Brad said. He will not sacrifice the single player game or experience for multiplayer. If you notice GC2 has no multiplayer and is a great game adn doesn't need MP. He even took a poll to make a MP element to it and that didn't even pass salt. So, no I don't expect the MP game to be much as far as the Empire building game goes. I've seen the MP elements and they are arena battles and some small capture the flag like pvp mp games. That's not t

If you have enough optional ways to victory instead of the most powerful and the ability to get to those options before a steamroller player can roller over everyone then you have a very challenging game to the end. Let players turtle and let them steamroll, but, have those avenues that other players can do that beats both of those types of players in their wakes and makes them cry and cry and cry foul foul foul. lol One thing I enjoyed in GC2 was as I was playing steamroller I got beat by in
Remember Brad also said this game isn't geared toward multiplayer. Multiplayer is just an afterthought and an addon to apease those that want to multiplay for the fun of it. But, the core game is single player and there's not going to be much deviation from that just to apease a handful of multiplayers like yourself. Having excellent multiplayer design is usually an indicator of good campaign/singleplayer capabilities. I wou
But in that first 20-30 (maybe 10-20) you can find some Loot or Gildar's, recruit some hero's or smack down some Bugs to get EXP and get an easy level... That's true, but it's still too much of a variable. May not be a big issue in single player, but in multiplayer it would probably suck a lot more when your opponent gets a sweet spot random start and you get jipped. "Preset" starting areas don't have to be big,

Money has always been the game winners in just about all Empire building games. Even in MOM you could get a clear lead early taking Alchemy and economic boosts (as well as rasing taxes sky high) and churn out summoned units by the hordes. So, in Elemental I'm taking things that deal with income and resources as to me that is what wins wars (ala USA WW2 production, they had excess resources to send chocolate cake overseas to the troups). Knowing that the ai probably isn't going to be much of a
