I love only having to work 3 days in a row. Though it is the weekend I get the next 4 days in a row again to explore the fun and new adventures of Elemental War of Magic. I'm glad to see most of the whinning and complaining posts have disappears and others who are fans of the game are finally starting to DISCUSS how to improve this game and make SUGGESTIONS instead of DEMANDS. ;)) Well happy day all soon it will be my HAPPY DAY(S). ;))

If the ai would build more archer/missle units then it wouldn't so often fall prey to the first strike in melee advantage humans take. Also if the AI is the defender force the human player to move forward not the ai unless the human player has an abundance of missle/archer units. It should be known to the ai the missle/melee advantage the human player has when the combat sequence begins. So roughly a preliminary battle should be played out in the ai's head (like wargames before the Normandy i
It seems to me that a first attack can be extremely devestating. It's a good thing that the AI is dumb enough to approach you any old way, or else combat would never resolve. The first person who moves into attack range dies. This gets alot worse when parties and squads are involved, because taking a big hit reduces your ability to retaliate. Multiplayer's gonna be great fun, as the players each wait and wait and wait for the other guy to move in range...<br /
that 1up "review" is horrible. It sounds like he just read about the game and drew his conclusions from there...
Yeah he sounds like a lot of the trolls on this site. He didn't play it (or didn't play it for very long) he just went around reading toll comments on other forums and just drew up a conclusion from all that. Reviewers like that should be sued and taken off the review market. Unless you have 100 full hours o
Surlybob, the problem is truly that there is nearly zero innovation in this game.
Actually there are many innovations in this game. City building is innovating compared to other fantasy strategy games. No other has this feature. The implementation of spell magic is innovating because it eleminates all those worthless spells and spell trees that nobody used anyways. The tile resource surprises are innovating. No other game ever gave those kinds of surprises mid and end g
With a 4x game, there's always a way to rush win if you want...but what fun is that? I prefer a very slow build.
Yep once I read he grunt rushed I stopped reading there because that is NOT A STRATEGY it's an EXPLOIT and can be done in ALL games. So this thread is dead next.....??

Have not played alot yet due to crashes and such but i found the golem in a recent game on turn 2 and just had him and my Sov for a long time just going all over and creeping and even wiping out 2 kingdoms by themself......
I strongly agree with most of the posts in this thread. I really think tactical combat and units need to be far more varied. Compared to MoM, AoW, King's Bounty, MoO2 etc., I find the the tactical combat and units relatively bland. Perhaps this is a bad analogy, but comparing the tactical combat in Elemental to MoM is like comparing the card game 'War' (split playing card deck between two players, flip top card of each deck, highest

Unit designs is not much more different than the ship designing of GalCiv2. What's the big deal? You can spend time creating some unique characters or you can take pot luck. The only real important things is the combat and defensive items you choose to place on your unit just like it was in GalCiv2 when you picked your weapons and shields everything else was just cosmetics. You could spend hours creating unique ship types with the same weapons and shields as another ship or you coul

Yeah I'm not so sure that's a bonus vs the others now afterall. I thought it might be a modifier of loot like Diablo 2 items but it's 1 stinking gildar per battle. Granted if I stay in battle enough it could be useful. I think bonuses to materials, gold or iron or knowledge is more useful now though.
quoting post In short, I'm a bit sad that Brad isn't the kind of designer who can look past his own personal preferences and figure out what is actually best for the game. What you mean is that you're sad that Brad didn't look past what HE wanted in HIS game, and put in what YOU wanted...
Lol exactly! Too many want to REDESIGN this game instead of play it. I prefer squares because the normal nature of land is a square not a hex. Also if I wanted to play a board game I'd pull out my ASL game and play using hexes. But, the world of computer gaming advances and squares are the cats meow now.

Don't believe everything you read by these ai beaters they just want the ai ramped up so they exaggerate. Notice they don't tell how many ai opponents they used or that they moved up to ridiculous level and won so easily. I just started one on a medium map with 9 ai opponents with map level at hard and 1 ai opponent on extreme and 1 ai opponent at ridiculous and it certainly wasn't easy. I actually got hit by bandits and a group of 4 spiderlings right off the bat after settling my fir
Hotseat actually requires as much or more work than standard multiplayer, as you've got to account for differences in diplomacy, combat resolution, switching which faction the player is controlling on the fly, etc. And there are fewer people who would use it compared to standard multiplayer (even more so since as others have said, we typically allow multiple installations in the buyer's home). Why do people make these long drawn out walls of text? If I were a dev I certainly wouldn't read that mess. Learn to give smaller suggestions "over time" it's not like the game is going anywhere and they aren't going to upgrade all that in a single patch anyway if they did read it.

I found Oasis's and fertile lands all around me and I'm researching things that increase food production by 25% like granaries and other neat little buildings. Food can be plentiful but you aren't going to get it all in 10 turns. It takes a lot of turns to get going good. Don't for

It would give the game a much more immersive feel if your sovereign got old and died at some point and one of his kids had to lead. There could even be a civil war event if two heirs are particularly similar in there credence to rule, You take command of one faction and your rival (AI or newcomer human player in MP) the o
