I know I will be in the extreme minority with this view, which I find perplexing, yet accepting. I also know Stardock isn't going to diverge Tarth's ability at this stage of the game. I shall simply never play them...
I love the +3 attack and initiative bonus of the people of Tarth. It would be cool if you would get an pop-up like this: "Greetings my Lord! I bring you great news! An area in our domain has become fertile enough for settlement! The people talk in excitment about going there and sing songs about the returning land. They await your command, my Lord."

I play with Insane monsters, it's better then normal monsters but still not great. At least the monsters scare me (Ophidians and trolls mainly). But there just ***king off in the bushes... There no
I like the new icons for the skills you got, nice spellbook too. ^^ Can you name outposts like cities?
The clothmap looks good, I'm just a little sceptical about the river. The river has almost the same colour as the surrounding rocks. Are there others that think the same? Maybe a more fibrand blue would help? P.S. Thanks for the upload
ETA?!?!?!?!?
Frogboy/Draginol/Brad said in another tread that it wont be till early august. Edit: Because of the Q&A team is working on 'the political machine' for the moment.
My guess is that we're looking at early August for Beta 4. The Political Machine 2012 is tying up our QA resources this month.
Thanks for letting me know that it won't be coming within a few weeks. ^^
I like the new cloth map too. It would be nice to have rivers that run through forests though. Doesn't make sense that rivers always have to be clear of trees.
This would be cool. Also I would like to see rivers springing from a lake.
Let's just play the new beta first, before going all 'rabble rabble rabble!"
Capitar is in the third picture...
Looks nice! Tanks DsRaider!
Hmm.. Only ctrl-n and ctrl-g seem to work. (ctrl-g activates the grid). Also, the ctrl-z mode seems strange, letting the AI rush-build everything... Thanks anyway! ^^
On a side note. Is it possible to watch AI-factions battleling as an observer. In Sins of a Solar empire you could resign, but at the same time beeing in the game. When you resigned in Sins of a Solar Empire you could see the whole map. Something like this would make it possible to see what the AI does and give comments on it in the forum. Or is there a key-combination like ctrl-n that gives that reveals the whole map?
Hi Horsesfly, If I recall correctly, Prosiphonie has 2 extra mana per turn (She has that as a trait). The monster that attacked you while playing Tarth (the green nation) was because of the random movement of the monsters. Tarth has the master-scouts trait, this is given to all there trained units. So monsters won't target you while they roam the lands, but random movement can bring them into a sqaure where you got a building or unit. Also using bows lowers your units initiative.
I wonder if the beta is already at the Q&A team...
I think there is something called auto-turn in the game options. It's turned on as default. The same thing happens in battles. You only press the turn button if you don't want to do anything more in the turn. (Maybe you want to let a unit gaurd a certain area.)
Will the new clothmap be added to Beta 4, as shown in Brads 'Quest editor' post? http://www.draginol.com/images2010/d7dc6ed5acdc_10357/image.png
Will the beta update be tonight? [e digicons]:troll:[/e]
My list would be: 1) NAVEL UNITS A MUST IN 4X GAMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't understand why people would not want this. And sea monsters of coarse. As it stands the maps feel very small and underwelming. And with the naval units should come navy combat (Tactical Battles.)
Well, it was pretty boring and useless. While playing Elemental: War of Magic, I never used the harbour or ship
My list would contain: - Naval vessels. (If only trade vessels between cities with docks) - Upgradeble forts. (Already being implemented) - Special resources that allows a special district (four title building) that can be upgraded to enhance the economie and maybe produce tradeble resources. Think: Silk, Cotton, Dyes (could let you further upgrade the silk and cotton industry), Jewels, Oils (Lanters oil and stuff). Something to make "special commerce cities." - &
I would like this, makes the wildlands more... wild.
Outposts have a limited distance they can be built (or summoned) from each other, so you can't pepper the field with them.
I just realized this... OOOOOHHHH NOOOOOOO!!!!! How am I going to build my own Hadrian's wall now?! Will we be given another means of locking an area off from the other players? I mean, I really liked making a border that nobody could pass.. :(
Will all the factions get there own artwork now? Or are there only empire and kingdom artwork? What I'm trying to ask is, will the different empires and kingoms look different from one another?
You can play as Pariden and drop outposts early on, but you will be making a hard choice to start claiming those resources vs making units or improvements in your cities.
Does this mean that resources go trough the building que of the closest city? Does this also affect outpost upgrades? edit: never mind, I red the post another time. So it does now. Nice. ^^
If I have two or more harbors, will these link together with caravals or other ships, like caravans do? I think it would be cool to see ships on the sea coast. I don't think this would happen, but it would be dahm cool. :D
