Spellshield exists, it's called blessing of nature or something. I'd prefer it if counter spells were easily resistible spellmastery vs spellmastery so only mages of your own level or higher could use it. Lesser mages could use specific counters like the ones you suggest.
Yeah this could work.
DsRaider
Well they would replace the existing counter spells and would be just be normal spells in the spell books. Dampening Deluge could be a lv3 waterspell instead of Mana Leech, which is a totally useless spell. Desert Wind could replace Manaburn or be a mixed lv1 air-fire spell. You could also directly replace counterspell with something like SpellSheild: target unit gains 30% resistance to fire, lightning, and ice dmg.
Oh ok that's a cool idea... I wonder if you could mod this in.
Roads do cross rivers.... but ya it looks really silly without a bridge.
Are they all female?
I would like to see some more specific protection spells be made available instead of counterspell, which is boring and a bad mechanic. For instance Dampening Rain could reduce fire dmg taken by 60% for all units, castible both tactically and strategically. Grounding could make target unit immune to lightning. The Desert Winds tactical enchantment could reduce cold dmg by 70% for everyone in a 3x3 square. If someone is spamming Pillar of Fire or Fireball then you can counter with Dampening Ra
huh ya it shouldn't be that large.... It's no like they have to readd the art files.
If another civ is blocking you then you can also try to get a non aggression pact with them, then they will let you pass.
-The cost of leather armor does not reflect the amount of armor it grants, they all give +1 but have different prices. -Going to the new mountain wildlands starts the the fissure movie.
I think I have seen this as well, but I was modding at the time so I disregarded it.
Hoarder spiders are a nightmare..... They daze your entire army every turn non stop.
You have to get economics before you can trade between cities now, except if you have an economic treaty with another player which sets 1 up between your capitals.
What makes the shogunate so unique? I have always considered feudal Japan to be pretty similar to feudal Europe.
Why have the feminists taken over Elemental???? and the graphic problems are back when in fog. Also hoarder spiders spam daze and its practically impossible to beat them. Trainable monsters price and stats for level 1 are what shows up when you train them. ie it says ogres have 9hp, take 2-3 turns
The main bug I can see is that the AI is spamming pioneers, scouts, archers, and spear maidens. I'm pretty sure all the factions don't get spear maidens, and since archers are currently broken in autocalc.... Wait I just realized all these units are female. WTF????? -Sand Golems are still level1 from token. -Contagion keeps not casting after the first turn. -Death shard art disappears for a turn on conversion from life shard. -Tooltip for Death Magic II
+ Added the Darkling Archer lair + Added the Darkling Warlock lair + Added the Banished Ogre lair + Added the Wilding Archer lair + Added the Wilding Hermit lair
Wha? Archers and melee units need different lairs?
+ Butcherman lairs can spawn butchermen + Crag Spawn lairs can spawn crag spawn + Darkling Rider lairs can spawn darklings + Death Demon lairs can spawn assassin demons<
+ Added the Warlock sovereign background (+50% spell damage, Magnar is a warlock)
Why 50% that's ridiculously high! A 20% boost would be really good, but %50.....
Yeah, I love all these changes, but I'm a little confused about the 1000 turn soft limit, as well.
It's probably just so scores are somewhat equal, ie it's hard to judge a game that lasts 100000 turns.
As other people have pointed out most archers in real life can't run around and shoot. I support removing moving and shooting in the same turn. Horse archers could still run around infantry but not other cavalry that way. LoS is unlikely to get in due to the amount of work it would take, if it is even possible. However you could easily add tiles that boost the ranged dodge of people who stand on them. However as others have pointed out this wouldn't actually help out much beca
lol I never actually ever bothered to build a crystal mine... I also usually had more metal then I could spend because 90% of my army was champions and it took forever to get metal armor. Resource abundance was a problem in .77 but so much changes in .80 that we will have to wait and see if it is still a problem. Having mines run out of resources would be a horrible mechanic. We don't need a new mechanic we just need balance, something that is always missing from betas.
I have to agree with some of the commenters on the original article. This has very little to do with gamer entitlement and more to do with the internet being populated by immature trolls. She is hardly the first game developer to be harassed online. The article simply highlights the fact that due to the mythical anonymous status of the internet people tend to be incredibly base and discriminatory. It just so happened that their target this time was female and thus the usual immature rage rant

I have just decided to make Islanders an allegiance instead of just a race. I am now accepting community input on what to call this allegiance. We have Kingdoms and Empire and they both have a specific governing philosophy. What should the Islanders be called and what should their philosophy be?
Well now... you can create custom allegiances! That changes things. [e digicons][/e]
Meh I will have to see how it turns out. The strategy part looks interesting but who knows.
Don't forget that the Gilden enslaved the Tarth for generations. They should always be at odds. If you are the Gilden and the Tarth become more powerful than you, expect a surprise attack or "reparations" as they call it. They should always play the slave card in negotiations. If you are Tarth, the Gilden should respond to you with derision, as you are nothing more than a band of rebel slaves.
Wasn't that Capitar?
