I don't have any specific spells that I particularly want to see. But what I want to see are: 1) Spells that draw from multiple schools of magic. Quite frankly I think dividing spells up into mutually exclusive schools is limiting and simple, and there are so many ways of combining them to result in more variation and complexity. 2) Contextual spells whose effects vary based on the context in which they're used. For example, a freezing spell that can be used to freeze a river,

I'm going to shamelessly link a thread I started a while ago: https://forums.elementalgame.com/330280 I'm not sure if I like the idea of 'black market' trading where one or more 'partners' in the trade have no say in it... It seems like something that really bug me. That said it would be interesting if you could still trade during war time. I don't know whether it's realistic at all but it could be fun. If two players are mutually dependent on each other for a ke

The resources might not be finite but the scale and setting certainly is.
I really don't see where you're going with this? First, you argued that infinite resources removes competition over resources, but now you're saying that it's not a problem? I mean, ALL games with infinite resources that I've ever played haven't just thrown them at yo
*oops forgot to edit this into the first post.* The real problem is balancing such a situation. If resources are not limited then competing for them is pointless.
That's not true. Even if resource nodes are unlimited, controlling more of them can (and usually does) result in a higher rate of accrual of said resources. Just because they don't run out doesn't mean competing is pointless, because in this case absolute value is less

If it's not in from the beginning I'm sure it'll make its way into the beta before release. Being something that's never really be done before, I would imagine SD would want lots of feedback on it in particular.

Wow, that looks great. Honestly I'd be happy even if that's the end of the graphical evolution of the strategic portion of the game - but happier still if it just gets better :) I actually like the black oultines in almost every case, but I do see a few places where something about them looks off. For example, the outline at the bottom of the big building in the middle makes it look a little strange to me. But all in all I hope you guys stay with the outline. And I agree with other pe

You know instead of the world being a planet, the universe is really a turtle who carries the world on his back. Or it could take place inside a giant worm or something. I'm with Luckmann. I want any essence I spend to be gone forever - if that artifact I created with essence or hero I imbued with essence is destroyed or dies, whatever power I invested in it/him should be gone, never to return. If I invest essence in order to settle a new town, even if that town is sacked or abandoned, that essence should be gone. However, as my channeler himself grows in power and/or resources, his essence should grow with him. And I also think that's how it's planne

I don't understand where you guys are getting the idea that the cataclysm occurs after the events of GC2? I get the impression that the cataclysm is the event that effectively removed the arnor and dread lords from play... Also, it appears as if the humans in Elemental are the ancestors of the Altarians in GC2. That would indicate that Elemental's story predates GC2's. Or am I crazy?
