Most of you are probably busy right now with Beta 2, but since I'm raising money for my busted video card, I can't join you at this time, so I will continue to write stories. Unlike the previous short story, this one is intended as a comedy and it has characters, that kind with names that actually speak. It has a very different structure, more like a comical sketch than a standard story. Also, another big difference is that I will be releasing this story episodically, for two

OK, if it's building based that would actually simplify what I had in mind. Going to try and make a Shiver Me Timbers Civilization, with man made atolls instead of towns, maybe buildings shaped as derelict ships. I just had a Monkey Island flashback.
Alright, I'll pitch the idea and in 3-4 weeks when there's a big enough audience I'll plug Elemental in one of the episodes and submit.
Speaking of podcasts. Can I submit a podcast in which Elemental is feature that I... umm, produce and host? Since I start work again after finishing my exams later this month.
I like the idea. I've added myself to the map.
A thought just occurred to me. What kind of production do water tiles generate in Elemental? I'm asking because I'm thinking if it would be feasible to make a waterborne city, like the pirate faction in the in the expansion of Alpha Centauri. I doubt there will be an option for waterborne cities in the release version, but it would be neat to be able to add them with mods. Someone could probably make an Atlantean/seafering/amphibian/SCUBA civilization.
Thank you for the feedback, I really appreciate your support. I have been digging around a bit and found a site called Fanfiction.com, it's basically the largest repository for fanfiction on the net, which currently lacks anything from Elemental. If I were to post my works there, would it generate a few more points? I'll still post a copy of (working title) "The search for the Fabled Halberd of Ishcabibble" on this forum for everyone to read.
True, and normally I would, but during exam season I'm used to only write things that can get me high scores. I'm funny that way.
Would something with a similar idea to Monty Python and the Holy Grail, but set in Elemental, get me more than the 60 points this story has generated? If it was written better than this of course. Or are short stories not worth that much? I'm curious because taking up writing during my exam period is an extra effort I could do without. And I've seen less time consuming things get a fairly good reward, like partial pictures of a desktop screen worth 55 points. So will extra effort be w
EBgames has the option to e-mail your wishlist to someone else. Use that option to e-mail it to yourself, it will send you the link to your public wishlist.
A long time ago the world was torn asunder by war, and life itself was almost snuffed out. Cities crumbled, forests burned, death and misery was all the eye could see. But it endured. Once it is created, life is incredibly hard to get rid of. If even a small part of it still exists, a small animal in the prairie, a fish in the sea, a worthless insect in the depths of the earth, it will return, repopulate, rebuild. <p style="margin-bottom: 0in;" la
As part of the Elemental Army initiative I have decided to submit a short story. Having nowhere else to post it, I have decided to use this forum, allowing the people most interested by such things to read it and comment upon it of they wish. A few notes. The story is based on my current understanding of Elemental War of Magic, as seen from the outside the beta. I tried to include parts of the lore that were posted in the journals, but they were a bit too specific to mold the type of
Still in [e digicons]k4[/e] th place. With the drop in points I'll have to work a bit harder on the projects, probably even add one more. But it will be worth it.
How cool would it be if that dance animation was kept in the game, and if there was a spell that caused enemies to start dancing, default spell or otherwise implementable. Just imagine a dancing legion taking on a breakdancing dragon. Quick question, can any of the editors included in the game handle unit animations?
As an addition since it has come up several times, please do not try to get points for wishlists on both EBGames.com and Gamestop.com. Both sites are the same company and share the same database, so you will only get credit for one or the other.
I saw Pakal_Votan was awarded points for both, so I thought it was ok. It did seem a bit odd that there was a single account for both sites. Also, will the diggs made by Island Dog
Hammerfell is strangely positioned in just about the same general area where it is in Tamriel.
Would writing short stories that take place in the world of Elemental nab me more points than digging up articles? Cause' I could do that. In fact I think I will do that, tomorrow night, after my Graph theory exam. Now, would you like a horror, thriller, comedy and if you say romance I will cut your head off.
I would have been a shoe-in to get to elite if the site I made content for was still on-line. I actually made videos about Elemental that are now lost in the space between servers. But at least I got to veteran status.
I wonder if the editor can be used for implementing a time travel spell for the sovereign. Does the game keep a record of what happened in the previous turns that can be accessed by other features, like spells?
Still hoping for a hijack counter spell for sheep transmutation to go with that mass heal. Also out of curiosity, will using a tile transmutation spell completely change that tile to the desired form? Like Raise Forest turns any square into a forest, or will there be restrictions like MoM had. I'm asking because it would be a bit sad to spend resources to turn the land around an enemy city into barren mountains, dry desserts and so on just to have the opponent be able t
I'm really looking forward to the magic and spell part of the game. That was basically my favourite in MoM. Didn't have much use for vast armies, or dozens of towns. Just a few heroes and 2-3 towns so full of magic that cats would spontaneously explode in their presence. There was a downside to overuse of magic on attacking armies. Some towns had wards against a certain type of magic, like chaos. Which meant that any creature I had with Chaos Channel on it, as in wings,
Oh good Lord, I have the picture in my head now. I can't unsee it [e digicons]X|[/e] . Are there any disguise spells in the game?
I have an idea for something similar to quests, prophecies. They're basically quests, but with a certain structure. A Prophecy can be triggered at the beginning of a game, or after specific events, like conquering a town, defeating another player, discovering a monster lair, or similar things. Like any prophecy, it will foretell the coming of a hero, or of a great evil, or something similar. It can give a precise date, a vague date, or it can specify an event after witch the p
A good way to convey that a unit is more experienced would be to give it one free ability. There could be a list of abilities that a player could chose from to apply to his unit once it reaches a certain level. The reason I say that a player should choose is that it would give more individuality to the unit, it wouldn't be just another cookie cutter troop that got churned out of the barracks. It fought in battles, it won several times, it achieved something. As for the abilities
That last bit about Master of Magic is like dangling a stake in front of a hungry dog. [e digicons][/e] Soon(next year) I will have the money to pre-order Elemental, and I shall feast on the stake. PS: The food reference is a cause of missing dinner today.
