I miss the AI-Dev journals Brad did for GC2. He did one for elemental, though it wasn't really about the AI so much. Those things were the reason I bought the game day 1. Elemental is looking like I will buy it after some updates, because from what I've been reading, I don't think it's where I want it to be, so for a change, I'll be patient and wait and see.

Paul Hellyer has a position I know is wrong, and I think is insane, he paints himself, he doesn't need my help with that. If you listen to what he is actually saying you will understand that he claims elements of the US government are at war with the visitors, and that it's only a matter of time before the visitors retaliate (justifiably in his mind one imagines). Perhaps you quibble over weather or not to call that a 'prediction', it matters little if the issue i

The Former Canadian Defense Minister gave one of the most interesting talks on extraterrestrials. If you have any interest in UFOs you should listen to this guy. Indeed, my friend. He's not the only high ranking official to come forward. Who knows who Dr. Edgar Mitchelle is? He was an Astronaut on Apollo 14. He's come out and said that he knows aliens exist and even said s

So the small proportion of sightings which could not be easily explained as airplane lights, meteors, ... must be ALIENS!!!! UFO nutters are exactly the same as those religious folks who explain everything they don't understand with 'god did it'. &nb
I'm impressed, several people have already given the correct answer. There is an incredibly high probability that there is intelligent life elsewhere in the universe, even within our galaxy. There is an almost zero probability that any ET-intelligent life has ever visited earth. That 2nd statement is caveated by our current understanding of the laws of physics, especially as related to FTL-travel. Now, as a curious per
Did you see your uncle Jack, off? vs. swaping one capitol letter for lowercase and dropping a comma.
Sounds like some kind of TW thing then, so I guess I will pass. In any case, I don't really think that the books lend themselves that well to fantasy strat gaming in the first place. Only one race and no magic kind of make the game start out feeling rather bland from the options stand point. Some one is going to try to cash in on the IP though, I was expecting more of an RPG or even FPS type of thing, at least that was the kind of game that

With GalCiv II, I felt pretty married to some pretty awful game mechanics because people threw a fit whenever we tried to change them.
*chuckle* Well maybe you shouldn't spend so much time basking in the warm glow of your fanbois ;)
First, why does there have to be a static balance at all points in the game? Secondly, heros/sovs can use magic, which increases on it's own during the course of the game outside of their particular development.
Cyanide making it? Urrggg... not sure how to feel about that honestly. And no idea what kind of strategy it's going to be. Anyone?
Out of the box it was no fantastic game to rave about. It took many many patches and two expansions and patches upon those expansions to get it to the classic it is today.
The first part is certainly true. The second? Since when is GC2 considered a classic by anyone? I would be incredibly disappointed and thoroughly upset if EWoM is anything remotely
Um... It's your daughters DS... why are you playing on it? Go buy your own ;)
You need to go to the atari forums and grab the user patches and mods. Then MoO3 becomes enjoyable. Playing it from the box is, well, not usually a positive experience.
Well I agree that HoMM2 and 5 are good, but really, HoMM3 was a vast improvement over HoMM2 in many ways. Though I have a soft spot for HoMM2 because it was the first one I played. I guess your point about balance is taken, though I saw it the other way, that is outside of the campaigns.
Err... The Heirgamenon is not the manual. I hope. Because it would make no sense to provide the manual only to people who buy the limited edition.
However, the lore in SotS came about (in large part) *after* the game was released, and the core play of the game did not rely whatsoever on the lore, other than some of the scenarios. Well if you want to link drive techs to 'lore' it did, but meh, I'm not sure I'd go quite that far, because the drive techs didn't have to be broken out as they were due to the lore, other than maybe the Liir. Now that isn't to say that Arrin didn't already have the lore conceptuali
George RR Martin? Yerk... Yeah great series, if he ever bothers to finish it. Great setting, but it's a bit disingenuous to say it's 'only humans and dragons' when the entire world beyond the wall is full of all manner of beast and fae. But sure, there are no elves or dwarves or ... at least no kingdoms of them. Now 'The Wheel of Time' is more along the lines of what you mean to describe. There are no
Would you like civ5? I have no idea, because mostly, no one knows exactly what civ5 will actually be like. It's bizarre to me though that you like HoMM2 and 5, but not 3. Maybe you just never played it? I also hated AoW, eventually, because it was just pointless after a bit, but I'm told people like it for MP, which I guess makes sense, I cannot fathom enjoying the SP after you learn the mechanics of the game because i
Many things are said which may or may not come to pass. It's not really a huge deal to me, but I would prefer a slightly 'darker' look and feel to the game than what I've seen so far. Everything looks a bit too 'cartoony' for my tastes. I will just have to assume that at some point somone will come up with a mod which suits my visual tastes, since I'm no artist (or modder for that matter). I guess my feeling is that my imersion into th
My take on this was that the concern was that the 'need' for lore was forceing some of the mechanics/design to take a back seat (not saying I agree with this interpretation, but that's what I got out of it). I agree that that would be a valid concern as well, and I do share it to a degree, though nothing to do with Brad getting a book published. However, I am in the camp who didn't like the 'cute' aspect of GC2, and hope that EWoM is more 'serious'. Thoguh I
Yes, it will hopefully appeal to the MtG demographic who are not already involved in the other tactics online games. I used to play a couple a while back, but frankly, the cost to 'keep up' became more than I was willing to pay. I suppose from the games point of view that 's not a huge issue if they can keep new players coming in, but meh, just not my cup of tea so much, the micro-transaction games.
Well if you're a huge magic fan I guess you might enjoy it, but these kinds of 'collectible tactics' games have been around for a while, it doesn't sound as though there is really anything new here, other than the license being used. Lets just say that if you want a MtG fix, this probably isn't it, but you may like it anyway. MtG has some online leagues anyway don't they?
