Two issues here. Firstly, I can only bring up the train unit pop up window if i'm not using fullscreen at a lower resolution such as 1024x768. When i do so, it then works. When in fullscreen it just has a corrupted pop up window. Secondly, when not in fullscreen, Elemental then crashes randomly when creating a new unit. Fogbugz link attached.
Getting the game to work reliably with DX 9.0a/b cards is still spotty and something we're hoping to work on, and I think the actual game stuff is a higher priority. But it'd really be advisable to buy a new card in any case, considering your x800GT is now four generations old and was a budget card to begin with. The compatibility situation is certainly not going to improve with games in general as time goes on.
at least here is an ans

But don't plan on being able to do so on a card that's 5-6+ years old when the later betas or full game comes out. SM3 is dirt ch

To get the older computers to work, I tried updating all device drivers and read a lot of the posts; this made minor symptom changes, but net is that older equipment just didn't work enough to actually see the sovereign on the cloth map for more than 1/2 second. Note these older computers do function with DX9 and hav

Publius - Are you running a SM2 or 3 card?.. thing is, I haven't been able to run the game at all past the creating world screen.. not even for a minute..

Not altogether shocking I guess think the 200 series will be better their on a smaller process and run cooler, factory overclock is bound to shorten life span a bit though. Vaul_Darkhour, not to suprised by that. But like the Murphies I'm not bitter could have gone any time nothing to do with Stardock or the Beta really.
<

thanks for the reply Fidvo. Yes I've tried windowed mode, default everything, turning off everything, changing res., updating graphics drivers, reinstalling etc... nothing will get me past the creating world screen... However, the game actually refuses to even load past the splash screen when in windowed mode funnily enough.. I've had to delete the app directory files and reset the game to to load the game again past the splash in fullscreen mode..

There are probably many parallell processes in Stardock right now and the dont stop the beta releases until everything is fixed with the current version. Remember that there are different ppl worki

Brad - This is pretty much stating what has already been stated which is simple enough as it is.. what exactly did you want feedback on? The concept has been commented on already.. what I would like to know is how the combat mechanics work..? :)

its nice that Elemental will have a good physics engine. It's really a moot point whether its eye candy or not. Logically for a game to sell well it must appeal to all facets of gamers wants. Physics are the new age 3d acceleration, plus it appeals to the modding community etc. Clipping although is not something anyone would desire... I would be interested to see the video of it in action and would like to know how modding revolves around this aspect.

Yes there were a few things which stopped me from playing Kohan 2 moving on from Kohan 1. Kohan was a brilliant game and I played many hours playing online multiplayer with that game. Adel's a nice guy too. I too played many 100's of hours playing Warlords 2 in particular. Predetermined cities are great for strategic warfare which was what Warlords was all about. There was obviously some prescripted story in the game and maps that also generated a realistic touch to the game. Steve's

I've had this similar idea for a a few years with the aim to implement it game design wise, just remember that although it is an organic based process in many situations, throughout history leaders etc. have purposely settled cities and towns such as demonstrated in the Hellenistic periods etc.. The best idea imo, is to give various routes and options to enable city/village founding that keep the realistic image of an organic civilisation.
