Hey, they do AMAZING work...well worth the money and 'peice of mind' if it's in the budget We outsourced the GC1 intro for around $40k and that was a measly 3 shots! The DoW intro is 2 minutes of (crude estimation) 80-ish cuts, and we all still remember it so that was probably money in the bank. We just don't have that kind of cash to gamble when the tea

Magic has to have some rules to even make sense, sure... in the grand scheme of things it might not have 'structure' but its best for keeping that kind of magic in the 'high/arcane' realm... for tabletop play.. Magic should have rules that keep it internally consistant... however... if you do manage to gather up enough crystals... you should be able

I somewhat agree with Scout on the issue of 'non-magic' things being based on what ew now know to be real. Instead things should operate on how the people in the setting believe things to operate. However, there's really no reason to mention whether magic is involved in farming etc..

Isn't that just a general rule of science thanks to Einstien? e = mc2 and the law of conservation of mass (second one not thanks to Einstien )
Yeah it is and I disagree with it's inclusion in a discussion of magic. Magic should be able to produce wildly amazing powers. Following laws of conservation would get too much in the way.

It doesn't make any sense.
It's not a false dichotomy in any way. There are resources involved in game development. THings like time an

The AI should really only attack when it knows that its units have an almost guaranteed win (greater than 75% chance of winning). The AI should also recognize that there are situations where kamikaze attacks to force attrition on a superior enemy is sometimes necessary (but it needs to evaluate when attrition i

Different races had character through not only empire-wide bonuses, but changes to how their generic units worked. Squads took casualties that reduced their ability to attack. Powerful monsters could sweep away several units. Throwing axes, striking first, all that stuff. I agree,l I love the way squads became less effective when th

The AI might think deploying its archers in the rear and using them as artillery is the only way a human could use them, but the human might be like "Nah, I've got plenty" and use them as a fodder like meatshield.
And you'd be suprised how much small-team development feels like 'side-project' development. No big meetings about focus group feedback...we're literally making a game that WE want to play, and once the gameplay development really gets rolling you'll see beta builds released that feel different by the week. If it works the way I'm thinking the difference in life and death magic is going to be about the aggressiveness of the player. So long as things have to keep dying for you to gain death mana then theoretically KILLING is the best way to get more. ANd if living things give you life mana then growing your cities would be the best way to get it. That's assuming of course that the description Brad gave translates to gameplay in any way. Perhaps life an

This is a gorgeous piece that is very much what I consider to be along the lines of elemental's art style. I found this one on the search for the artist I'm looking for. I remembered he had done a piece that Kokomo Glass commissioned him to do with just their glass. His piece is on this page with no attribution or name for him ... GRRR.

I just thought that I would put this image into this thread as it's off topic in the other one. Stained Glass windows are part of the A.N. artistic style, and they are absolutely gorgeous.
