Confirm, barricade bug still up (yup, just got the latest patch). And Sendark, no need to complain that much about the game ;) The game itself is excellent - lots and lots to do and try out and sniff around. Lovely graphics, nice sound. And except for the horrible inability to create truly random maps for exploration (which I hope will still come), I really like it as it is already... Ciao, Klaus

It seems that my people (particularly the caravans) are no fans of planning ahead too much: when I want to tell a caravan to go to a rather distant city, he simply refuses. No target cross appears, and he doesn't move. Initially I thought that there might be no connection (as still happens at the pass, between my first two cities in the Campaign), but when I teased him step for step along the way I wanted him to take, it worked out. Thus: bug. Should be able to plan further ahead. Aft
Hmmm... nobody else interested in a PDF handbook?
Good heavens... [e digicons]:O[/e] Yes, there was a thread about this under 'support', but it got locked. So let me say here: ladies and gentlemen, I am shocked! I really am! I don't care about map seeds. I don't care about pre-defined continent shapes. I want randomly generated maps! Yes, they can be unbalanced. Yes, it can be a fair amount of work to get them at least slightly balanced. Yeeees, we can remove the seeds in the subdirectory (and regret it),
Cool, going to sniff through that, too :-D In the Elemental Support forum I've offered to create a solid PDF handbook ( https://forums.elementalgame.com/391823 ) - anybody interested? Ciao, Klaus
There have been several messages like that - looks like Win7 64bit might have a problem. Are you sure you've got the very latest driver for your video card? Ciao, Klaus
Well, I'd agree saying that a comparison view would be a very good idea... Ciao, Klaus
Nope, no caravans simply because we cannot transfer the barricade. Yes, I loaded my game from yesterday evening (before the 1.01 patch), and it worked flawlessly. Ciao, Klaus
* The story book offers to scroll even if it isn't needed. Perhaps due to my high-res system I can see the entire text, yet it still shows the 'scroll down' arrow which, when clicked, does scroll by 2 - 3 empty lines... * After being allowed to walk through the mountain pass by Kivuulad, that was it - no more crossing. Not even for the people (Janusk and Miramous) I left behind... * I was sitting near Erikacon, and told some outdated soldiers to auto explore for me. They&
Yup, I'd probably (if permitted to do so!) use their handbook data for some basics. By the way, the do have a page at the very end, showing the keyboard short-cuts - including the 'B' [e digicons]|-)[/e] Ciao, Klaus
Confirm. I went over the barricade on my own, leaving the other morons loosers people behind. And that was that, as they couldn't follow me later... Ciao, Klaus
Try building a caravan - the completed image will show a horse (zoomed waaaay too close), and no data at all on the right. Something like walking speed would be useful, and (for the beginners) a short text just what it is, perhaps with suggestions where to connect next.
Relax, glucero0 [e digicons]^_^[/e] You are right, of course, but squeaking around doesn't help here (although Stardock truly has good support), but (as mentioned above), how about creating a nice manual? I did start a threat thread on it: https://forums.elementalgame.com/391823 Ciao, Klaus
After the game installs (or, as it did just now, updates), it creates an icon on the desktop of my Windoze 7 32bit system - as it should. However, that icon is not a link, but a file of 0 bytes, and the image is not the nice fat E when you link the actual EXE, but just an empty page... Horrors, horrors! Such an urgent issue, requiring an immediate fix! ;) Ciao, Klaus
Mivo, the download has an 8MB PDF manual, yes, which will help you over the worst spots. However, it doesn't contain enough detail by a long shot, thus I've opened a thread asking if we want to create a nice PDF handbook ourselves... Ciao, Klaus
Hi everybody! So... remember that fat book that came out a bit after MOM? Called "The Official Strategy Guide"? That's what a handbook should look like, a large book, 460 pages thick, filled to the brim with really useful data... it was wonderful. You don't know it? Never heard of MOM? Don't worry, this post is interesting for you anyway ;-) Of course handbooks can't be that wonderfully detailed these days - lot of effort, high shipping w
I would suggest: let them level up. Was great fun in MOM to start out small, capture an 'alien' city, and in effect switch to this one, taking over both worlds with it [e digicons][/e]
Hi! I have quite a bit of trouble with this game. Fast PC, dual monitors, latest drivers, etc.. * Appeared to have crashed at start - but no, it insists on full screen, and the much-used XXX system asked if Elemental is allowed to access the internet... perhaps better to start with a centered window, and just switch to full screen after accessing the net? * Lord Relias description in first Campaign: "...humble camp was set abalaze by wondering thieves"..."wanderi
I must admit that this irritated me, too. I built my city right next to a nice fertile area and... could not build a farm. The city did not show an option for it. Only by accident I found out that I had to click on the farm tile to build a farm. Perhaps the city should add 'Farm' to its options if a farm tile is within range? Ciao, Klaus
I got something similar: I called up the game (for the first time), a nice dragon image appeared and - nothing. After a while I found out what the heck is going on: the system insists on starting in full screen. And then tries to access the net. Whereupon my ZoneAlarm tool (which is used by quite a few people I dare say) pops up a query - do I allow it to access the net? Unfortunately, the query is hidden under Elementals full screen... irritating.
I confirm the auto-resolve problem - except that I have it the other way round. I saved before attacking the small spider at the very beginning. Attacked it in detail. We all got killed. Tried again. All got killed. Tried autoresolve: killed the spider, no losses. Same with all other autoresolves, although I haven't had many yet... Ciao, Klaus
Hi! Confirm the crashes - happened twice, both relatively early, kinda makes sure I can't play this for longer than, say, 20 minutes at a time :( Got two ZIP files in the directory you mentioned - but how do I attach them here? Ciao, Klaus
Oh, and after this I restarted the game (no reboot), turned off SFX, did a Load Last (I auto-save every turn), and the game hung at "Creating World..." (25% CPU usage (ergo 1 CPU of 4)) - had to kill it via Process Explorer. Started program again, chose 'Load', and it hung again at the same place. I looked at the save files (C:\Documents and Settings\Klaus.GOLEM\My Documents\My Games\Elemental\Saves) and found these two: AutoSave.EleSav and PreviousAutoSave.EleS
Dual-TFT, playing in windowed mode. Created three cities (am I doing something wrong? Can never create more than three cities, as I run out of ), walk just walking about. http://www.breueronline.de/Elemental/20100430_1259.zip Let me know when you've got this data (or if you don't need it), so I can delete it again. No hurry though.
