I'm still keeping on, I get about 20 turns in before OOM. It's a pain, but I'm not giving up until either I win or my Empire is in ruins. Hopefully this is addressed in the patch on Tuesday.
MoM factions: Adding the good ol' MoM races, and balancing them out.
The Dragonlance Team and myself will be able to help you out here. We're already making Elves and Draconians and Dwarves. Honestly, I thinking of kicking out a MoM mod anyway but I'm giving Dragonlance precedence as it's my passion. I am an old MoM player though...ahh, the good ol days. Excellent stuff. Keep it up.
This has got to be the worst problem happening. None of the other "issues' bother me really. The gameplay I can handle, np, I actually like it. This kills it for me though. Maybe I just need to kill off a couple large factions like John says. This map really is Huuuuuuge. You can download it though the in game downloader if you want to play it. It really is an awesome map.
Ok, I've got an Epic game going on the map called "The Real Faege" and every 10 turns or so I get a "Out of Memory Error". Now I had 6 gigs of Ram in this machine, then I had to take 3 gigs out and put it in my wife's machine, so now I'm down to 3 gigs. Still, with 3 Gigs of Ram and another 1 Gig on my video card, I really don't think this thing should eat that much memory in that few turns. I'm fighting on though, saving every 4-5 turns as needed. Keeping on keeping on. Please fix th
Wow....just checked those links. If I saw Elemental look like that I think I'd crap all over myself from the shock of awesomeness. Yeah, me too. If I end up getting this (with export) I will have to play with it. I may be asking you for modding help though Raven!
I can handle that my friend. ;)
I would like to do something about the actual look and feel of the world environment...perhaps something more realistic. While reseaching options, I am wondering if anyone has any knowledge of Vue 8 http://www.e-onsoftware.com/products/vue/vue_8_t_pack/?tpack=fantasy and if that program could be used to create the necessary graphics (texture maps, etc) for import into the game. It's an easter egg in Undead Raising 3.0
Not Kinder, KENder :P And they will NOT be in Undead Rising 3.0 . I might hide some elf heads on a stick in there somewhere though :P
Great Stuff man! but I have to ask..um ....wheres my kinder army???
Kender are coming, no worries. This is to show that models are being made and we can get them in game, that's all. Even this is a Really Big Step in the process.
That's excellent stuff brother. I was STOKED when I saw them when we talked tonight and I'm just as STOKED to see them again here. :) The skels will go great in Undead Rising 3.0 as well :)
Wow, 25 bucks AUD to buy the book from borders in Australia.... search of the net shows the epub is 16USD... crikey that's a lot of cash. Hope they drop the epub price at some points, the novel is just too expensive right now. Oh well.
That price better be for the hardback, cause that's Steep for a paper back.
Good stuff. I was thinking of making a Mana Regen building. The character should have to go to the building to use it though, and only once per turn and one per city. I think that would balance it out nicely. The Undead faction, in the next update, wil have buildings that drain mana, life, and essence from the lands around it.
I want to say when Dhuran and I were going through the files for UR2.0 we saw a file with a 1 or 0 value to tell the sov whether or not to start with a spouse. I'll have to see if I can find it again or ask him if I can't. Will keep you all posted.
Um....correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that the Campaign map already in game?
I really think we should be able to trade techs. It's a valuable part of diplomacy.
BTW raven I also have an old Dungeons and dragons campaigns setting with a lot of useful information including character cards with stats for most of the major players in the series (at least the war of the lance era versions) let me know if there is any specific information you still need and I can do soemthig similar for you like edpfister.
Just dropping by to say that Raven will have a few new assets to include to his dreaded Undead Faction soon, as a preview here are some of the things I've been adding so he can play around with them in the tile editor! Reduced 60% Original 950 x 560 I skinned them so they arent that great, but once Raven works his magic they should be looking good! Note: These screenshots are from inside
Hey Kyogre, here's info for my newest version of Undead Rising. It's a new link so a new addition. Also, you still haven't listed my Urxen Skin I posted on the last page :P. Udead Rising 2.0: https://forums.elementalgame.com/395708 Description: Allows the player to play as or against the faction of Ravenloft from AD&D. Use Skeletons and Zombies to build undead armies and ravage the land!! By: Raven X and Dhuran
The interest everyone is showing in this is great. I can see great things in the future of this game and for the Elemental Modders here.
If you all want to see a shining example of a "polished game", check out Mafia 2. It's got more polish then a crate of Turtle Wax. Seriously, every company in the business should strive to make games as polished and detailed as it is.
Thanks man. Actually, I got rid of the skeleton above. I didn't like it, so I erased it. I thought this one looked much better: I swear... this one was soooo much easier to do. If you notice in the close up, I have attached a tongue. I am going to have a rough go at mapping this guy, but as you can see this is a great m
Edit: works in the Units folder too. By the way, does the mod affect Altar males' face?
LoL...well, the undead skin is set to work on that model type in the skins xml. It should have an incredibly microscopic change of showing up on them though when compared to the races normal skins. It was probably a fluke because you picked Strahd as the Sov there and he's set to lead the Undead. Very funny hehe.
I have tried Undead 2.0 adding the CoreLogos file into the Race folder (internalname of the CoreLogo as PreferredLogoType for Ravenloft_Faction_Custom). Works fine.
Doh!!!! I wasn't putting the xml for it in the "Race" folder....I'll bet that was the problem when I tried.
Hey Raven, I just sent you a invite. I'm just starting to learn how to mod and I thought this would be a great learning experience for me. If it's cool with you and your team I'd like to sit in at your dev meeting. If not then please just ignore me.
You're added to my messenger and to the the list who wish to attend. Welcome my friend.
