I have yet to be in a game long enough to get a hero (had about 6-7 cities and was trying to ramp up the prestige to attract one). I have killed a couple of other sovereigns so far.
I don't think Heros are in this stage of Beta.
Sadly we have stereotypes for a reason, because more often then not they are true. I'm not saying they're right, and there are Always exceptions. Stereotypes are Not always true. Thinking they are will only make you ignorant. Here's a example. In the area of Florida where I live a lot of Indians (from India not Native Americans) own convenience stores. Saying that Indians Always own convenience stores would be a stereotype. A lot of Indians who Migrate to the United States go int

I've been following that game for a while now. It doesn't look too bad. I don't know if it will compete with Gal Civ 2 or not, but it does look as if it could be a contender. @ Matthew the Mage: Nice Avatar, Raistlin rules.
I tried to connect through Impulse just now. I joined the Elemental channel but I can't say anything or see anyone else chatting. Every time I try to type it says Unknown Command.

Thanks Rosco_P. Now every time the AI offers me a daughter I'll have this irrational fear David Bowie is going to take her away... :P
That was hardcore strategy. I had the original and the 2nd one for SNES, still do. They had marriages in that game but it was very limited. I am thinking there was an interesting flavor to it though.
Nobunaga's Ambition was one of the hardest strategy games ever made. I don't know how they did it way back then, but the AI was incredible. The funny thing is it being a Nes game.
Unfortunately if you install it 3 or more times you'll have to call Microsoft because it won't "activate" over the internet anymore. There is no such limitation that I'm aware of. The only limit on automatic activation with XP is that it'll only work once per 120 days. If you have a retail copy you can transfer it from machine to machine as many times as necessary as long as you don't do it too often. XP as a whole is

Just imagine: You summon/tame a mighty otherworldly beast and you must sacrifice some humans / turn in order to keep the beast calm. It's pretty acceptable imo. Agreed, I'm thinking a group of vampires should have such an upkeep. If there's
I think you're right Wintersong, maybe they were called Terror Stars. I only used the analogy to show how far along in the game you would have to be before you could get a Flying Citadel. In one game of Gal Civ 2 I used them to destroy EVERY star system that I didn't own. It was awesome :)

Did you research Farming and did you have enough money to build it?
I always figured it was hitting 100% for that level then rolling over into 98% of the next level. It will fluctuate from 95%, 96%, 98%, and 100%.
Definitely not implemented yet. I can't see them leaving out something as basic as a "delete" button on one of the features they're so proud of with this game.

Excellent post. I actually assumed that extensive Sovereign customization would be included. I'm saving my posts like this for when the beta is a good deal farther along and we have a better idea of how things will be in game. +1 for effort and thought though. I agree totally with just about everything you suggest. [e digicons]k1[/e]

Gonna have to say I agree with the OP. In a turn based game that's the way I prefer it as well. Vieuxchat, I don't think we can really apply the Supreme Commander method here. Supreme Commander was a RTS. Every second the building was going up was draining part of it's cost until completion. It's a great system, I just don't see how it can be worked into a turn based game other then to devide the cost of the building by how many turns it takes to complete it.
