I think that this is a very important gameplay element. Stardock must be careful with it, so, I think that there should be 2 options. 1. Game ends when the Sovereign dies 2. Game won't end when the Sovereign dies, and the player will be able to choose from the childs of the Sovereign, as the successor who will control the kingdom. [..or the eldest child will be the successor automatically maybe.] = All players w
100% agree. You should not have full vision of all of your own territory. (I think that is already the direction they are going as that is how CalCiv2 was.)
I agree as well. I think if you want to be able to see all your lands at all times you should have to build "Watch Towers" or "Outposts" so you can maintain a sight radius. Even then if you don't have a unit there it should be arguable as to whether or not yo

I don't know but I doubt they are going to give people access to the core files. I'm sure what they will do though is give us the ability to write a AI script and place it in a file or folder that will over-ride the standard AI when creating the world. That's how most games with near this level of customization do it. They do still need to maintain intellectual rights to the core game files so other companies don't steal their work.
No, not that every player (bad choise of words on my part sorry), but that the game will then favor one type of player, namley the person who sits there and finds the fastet path to the end tech. Like I mentioned, there are so many different tactics in a game like this, that giving a player bonuses like this unbalance the overall gameplay. So a long time ago I was a GM for UO. Both as an actual employee and then in later years as a volunteer. During the years I was a volunteer GM and Seer I worked on the longest running UO free shard in existence. This shard was called The Forgotten Lands, commonly known as TFL. Being the longest running free shard back in the early days we had a lot of my old OSI Staff friends pop over either to talk to me or to just see what we were doing to get ideas for the paid servers. Over the years we g

One thing I like in these types of games are event movies. Little three to four second movies that pop up when you have a semi unique event happen. Like a new born to the family, or a child's death, or a storm at sea sinks a ship, or a dragon raids a town, or an undead army rises from the site of a great battle of the past. There are all kinds of things in Elemental that could trigger events and as such trigger event movies. These little cut scene movies add a Ton of Flavor to any game.
That's sounds awful. This will just result in one path all players will play. Personally I prefer a balanced game, not one that favors "speed builders". Guess I will not be playing online....sigh.
Look at it this way. He didn't say "Only One" tech gets a bonus when you research it. Researching different techs first could apply different bonuses. This was the player isn't going to research the same things in the same

That's definitely an awesome tat brother. I hear ya on feeling old. I'm 31 now and it feels like I was 25 just yesterday. It's sad. The older I get the faster it feels like time is going.

Excellent idea Denryu. I'm seriously hoping they change that in a later beta. I was figuring we'd get options for that when they implement the Diplomacy model.
This is some kind of good/bad idea. So I have to read through posts in this topic to find something in the forum. Considering the lack of order/topics/something, I find it no different than checking the forum normally.
The idea is so that you wouldn't have to read through the entire thread no. Simply scan the list, see an idea you want more info on, and click it. As our Idea posts get more numerous they are bound to go back

That is one SWEET ASS RIDE Zyxpsilon. I used to drive a 77 Plymouth Fury that was made into a street legal drag car after being a decommissioned cop car. That thing had some serious torque before I drove it into the ground. From a sitting stand still if I floored the gas I would screech my tires for about 2 blocks and spin all four hubcaps right off the car. Eventually I got tired of having to go back for the hubcaps so I stopped doing that...LoL. Nice avatar btw. Spidey rules.
