Open Space is the way to go. From a programming point though they all have "lanes" as all you have to do is connect every star in a system to every other star. This is usually what's done but the lanes are "invisible" to players. In a Open Space system the only thing you have to really account for is the fact that a player could send a ship to a open point in space with no star there. From a coding perspective that's the challenge, the open point the players may chose. Aside from that going f

Put a similar system into Elemental :). Personally, I can't wait to DOMINATE once we seriously get into the Multiplayer Beta.

I suspect the repercussions of Cloud computing will have a negative impact on the industry as a whole; if the end users are no longer buying new hardware, the advances in technology we've been seeing for the last ten or so years will slow to a crawl as the demand for the new hardware dies out. Potentially, we're going to be seeing interesting times ahead. [/
I agree. It's a terrible idea because not just because it screws legitimate customers but also because it turns the publisher into a 24/7 service provider without the benefit of a monthly subscription. It's insane.
Don't worry, Brad. Soon every company will have it's own version of "Impulse" or "Steam" to sell it's games through. Eventually in fact that will be the Only way you get those games. Piracy will be a thing of t

You would still use the "steam or impulse" type game license control.
I've been doing my research into this for about 6 months following the development of the "OnLive" service. They have a expanded business model that allows the purchasing of games on the service, it also allows "lea

You know what I see when I see or hear of "Cloud Gaming" ? Just another way for companies to "police" the internet. I hope people get tired of this fast and it dies. I SERIOUSLY hope this isn't the future of computer gaming. If it is I may end up going over to totally Indie games and underground software, not to mention console gaming. Next they'll be using this to I.D. people online. Then the forms of discrimination will come into play sooner or later... If I want to be a par

I haven't updated this list for a week or so, but I have a updated list here on my system. I wanted to make sure we weren't going to have another forums explosion and loose people's ideas. I'll add the new updates tonight or in the morning so all the new ideas are listed.

When looking for serious tech reviews I'd never go to Gamespot. I only posted the link to that article because it was the first one I came across regarding the new GTX 480. Not to mention that article Does have some useful tech info in it. Give it a look and check it out.

Before you decide on a purchase check out Gamespot's review of the new Nvidia GTX 480. Read about it Here . I've got some more imput on this subject but no time to post it right now. Later this evening I think I'll post some more specs and some of my personal experiences between ATI and Nvidia that might help you.

I also forgot to mention I got "Fallout: 3 Game of the Year" eddition. I think I didn't mention it because I already had Fallout 3, just not all the DLC. I think I'm going to give Distant Worlds a shot for a night or two and then go back to DA:A and finish it off. Thanks everyone :)

Well, I would be finishing up DA:A but I made the mistake of starting DA:O over a few days before the expansion came out. As such I had to replay through the entire original game to get up to the expansion so I'm a little burnt out on it right now. I figure if I break it up a little, play something else for a few days, then I'll feel like going back and finishing DA:A .

I've gotten a lot of new games recently (my Birthday was just the other day) and I can't figure out what I want to play. Here's the latest games I picked up. Dragon Age: Awakenings (I'm about 1/3 of the way through this as of last night) Distant Worlds: (I installed this last night and went through the tutorials. It seems all right but I don't like not being able to control my Empires research) Just Cause 2: (I played this all day the

The original DF was great, but this updated version looks like a P.O.S. They couldn't have updated the graphics just a little bit? All those ASCII characters, even colored in 16 bit, looks incredibly lame. The Avernum series looks better then this. Don't get me wrong, it's the game-play that matters. Even awesome game-play though can't save a game when looking at it makes my eyes want to burst out in gushing blood. Ultima 1 graphics would be a improvement over the ASCII symbols they used. Sad

So I took my wife to see the new "Clash of the Titans" tonight. They opened it here tonight instead of tomorrow night. We went to the 10:20 showing. It's not bad. Very heavy with the use of CGI, then again what isn't these days. They stuck pretty close to the story of the original. They made a few minor changes which I won't talk about yet as I don't want to spoil it for anyone. They even manage to sneak in a reference to the original in the form of a certain Owl prop. If you've seen the orig

Even Sup Com 2 is better then C&C4. That's sad....very sad. The User Scores on Gamespot are "Spot" on...lol. (couldn't resist the pun, sorry) Though, it does Deserve a bad score just for Drm (which is pointless as it's been cracked anyway).
One thing I've thought would be pretty cool is if instead of being sued, out-right pirates just had to have a tag associated with them when on the internet and when at conventions, so content creators could take a look at the crowd and choose who to make content for, and who to not bother with.
