Ah the old Quoting kryo, reply 1AFAIK children have a small random chance to be born to any marriage after it's made. Being a wizard and all you need not be in the same tile to procreate. Ah the old "A Wizard did it" excuse. "Wait a second I was away for 5 years why do we have 3 children now?" "Ummm Magic?" Ok, I'm confused now. Why do you think you need resources to expand? I keep expanding everywhere, whether there are resources there or not. It allows me to build more workshops, merchants and the like, which are simply free resources, and eventually my cities grow and I can use them to train soldiers.
Quoting Bellack, reply 90 Retaliatory attacks should stay in the game as is with one exception, Unit should only be able to retaliate if it still has action points left and these attacks should cost action points. Damage spread should have at lest a min damage after all we already have a Miss mechanic in the game so what is the point of having a hit do '0' damage. If a unit can do 0-6 dam it should actully be 1-6 (or d6 in D&D terms.) There should
Quoting diamondspider, reply 456) This is not a bug, but may as well be: the random numbers in combat are WAY too random. Why bother with having subtle elements like 25% increases in defense on a unit when a unit with a 36 attack can easily get only 5 damage when they are in the open? Even when the enemy has low armor and is of similar level. I don't mind some randomness, but the amount here makes many of the subtle tactic simply not worth wor

Basically you can have bigger armies.
Interesting. I had no idea that it had an actual gameplay effect. I thought it was purely aesthetical/flavour. You see, this is why proper descriptions are needed.

Unfortunately it seems that you can only get female units if you use select a race with the "egalitarian" trait. The rest of the races are sexist as far as it seems.

Again, the problem with Iron Lore was their own fault for using DRM. If they had no DRM and people had just used a version which was not set to fail, then they wouldn't have such a word-of-mouth issue. They failed to recognise how much free advertisement is done by Piracy and they paid the price. It's their fault. Sorry. The only thing debatable is to what extent piracy is harming the gaming industry and not if it's harming the g

Personally, I think the most realistic option for the late game (where you start getting stacks of units that is), is to allow champions to "join" them as a leader, similar to how it's done in Warhammer. Basically you would have an option for your champion to merge with a unit, which would then do one of two things. Allow the champion to attack as part of the unit without running so much risk of taking an one-hit kill from a stack, or simply give some pretty hefty "leadership" bonuses to the

All of those claims you mention are debatable as well. The fact that big companies are making decisions based on half-arsed arguments is not surprising. They would have made bad decisions whether piracy existed or not as have been making them for quite a while. Iron Lore was a fool for not understanding how powerful effect piracy has on word-of-mouth advertising either.

It seems the author got it right. Even though the journals mentioned that they were trying to make a game that did not require so much town-spamming like in Civ, and where you wouldn't be so penalized if you explored with your hero at the start, in gameplay terms it's much better the settle immediately and start spamming out settlers ASAP. The first game I played, I only had 4 cities spread out around the map and that really clunked my economy. Since there doesn't seem to be an overhead with
