Quoting wayninja, reply 83 No, Multiplayer is not really subjective. Unless you feel you do have it. I'm not sure how you can simply 'let that slide' as it were. And that would be assuming all other aspects are gravy. Which, let's be honest here, they are not. A score greater than 5 would make me not trust gamespot ever again, and 4 is more than fair. 4 = 'poor', which seems right

When they said they were not going to do much with MP just yet, this is where I thought we would start. Just SP with human players and then work from there.
Well Brad said not to do that. I would appreciate it, very much so, if you would come back though once they turn MP on and give some feedback since I followed Brad's advice and held off for now.
I don't agree with the subscription model at all for Elemental - I expect the game to be fixed and refined over the course of the following months to meet their original design goals. DLC is not a bad thing WHEN DONE RIGHT. Yes, companies get greedy and treat people like shit, trying to sell a few maps for $15 dollars, or a couple of new items for $2. But it can be done right and can be a plus for both the developers and the customer

I don't know why Stardock doesn't just give us a list. I asked for it before, a list of multiplayer features in the game now, and a list of features that are coming and when. Nothing. I don't think they flipped the switch to ON yet either.
v1.05 isn't the one you get in the box. Not that v1.05 isn't a bughive (v1.06 too, for that mater), but the version in the box is far worse. But I agree, it's the box version people need to review. And you do need to take a hit for the sad state of it. The game isn't freeware, after all.
And if you are going to claim the game is DRM free, the reviewed version of the game should actually be the DRM free version of the gam

Gamers shall have the right to demand that games be released in a finished state." but right now it says "2. gamers shall have the right that games they purchase shall function as designed without technical defects that would materially affect the player experience. this determination shall be made b

I thought this was a nice story either way. These are not my kinds of games at all, but I love Steam sales. Because of heavy discounts, i've encountered some indie games that I loved and never heard of before.
Here's a completely different take on (new) DRM and piracy. DRMs latest shenanigans is to prevent reselling by providing game content only available through online distribution. If you bought a resold game then you lose out on the bonus content or buy it seperately. Too many retailers like Gamestop and Ebay have munched into software developer profits. Of course the resale business may never have taken off if it w
Quoting dragoaskani, reply 29 As frogboy has said REPEATEDLY prior to the game being released. If you are buying this game for multiplayer, then you probably shouldn't be buying it. Since its a 1 player game, with a multiplayer option. And the box says multplayer on it. So you think people are in the wrong for expecting multiplayer when it's an advertised feature? <br /
Quoting Nesrie, reply 118 Is a half dozen articles okay or do you want hundreds? I clicked randomly on the geek.com article and it seemed to be a guy being very skeptical of the ELSPA's 90% DS claim, but that's beside the point. You actually got some evidence and that is what is generally lacking from forum debates. Keep it up guys! This has been a very interesting

I have this button, you have it too, it's called "My Replies". It keeps track of the threads I have already replied in for me. It has n
Quoting Nesrie, reply 28 Ignore the pirates. Most games out there have a 90% something pirate rate. So what. The good games still get paid for, and the really good ones still get a lot of money. MW2 had a lot of piracy but it still raked in a lot too.
Tactical battles will actually see their way into the MP side of the game pretty soon, according to a very recent post by Frogboy. Your friend shouldn't worry and just buy the game.
Tactical battles are making their way into MP again, as a couple people have already said. I'd still put off buying the game for MP though. Tactical battles is just one of many issues with MP.

Starting in alliance/teams would be a great option to have. I prefer starting out on my own and having the thrill of finding the others myself and then allying with my friends, but the option to do it the other way works for me too.
Quoting Tridus, reply 58 Quoting LordTheRon, reply 55 Agreed, Brad always stated the focus for the game is on singleplayer. In singleplayer balance isn't such a great issue. So give us the random maps for singleplayer and if need be use the current system only for multiplayer. There's balance, and then there's balance. Having resources be a bit imbalanced is one thing. Having to wander 50 turns
