I believe the Dev's had mentioned that there will be various towers throughout the game (outside your cities) that you can obtain via quests/fighting monsters. I havent heard anything about being able to build towers that serve various purposes. Great concept though!

As usual...you da man! Thanks Landi! [e digicons]k1[/e]
I already posted this in the general forum but Raven asked that I post it here so he can put it in the comprehensive list. Self explanatory though...I think dual wielding should be in!
I can't remember if there has been any discussion on dual-wielding as of yet but I hope it makes it into the game! I have an awesome idea for a custom unit I want in my army but I'll be a sad panda if they dont offer it as an option!
For example, someone already posted the idea of the first player to get one of the tech milestones get a bonus. We like that idea.
That's good news!
Thanks for the update, Boogie!
Liking what I'm seeing. Keep em coming! :)
Also...this should probably be moved to the general forum.
Defintely good news! Let's hope it actually happens!
I had fun using this feature in Civ4. I look forward to see how it will be implemented in Elemental. Thanks for the great news! *cough* August FAQ *cough* Sorry, I think I'm coming down with the flu...
Dude, you rock so hard. Awesome videos!!! Another [e digicons]k1[/e] for you my good sir
This hasn't been mentioned anywhere yet that I've seen, and it wasn't part of the official presentation. However, there was a bit of a ruckus on the forums recently after Brad mentioned that they might filter out people with very low upload bandwidth on the Stardock servers. At PAX, a question was asked if people would be able to host their own servers and the answer was: YES. Stardock will provide their own servers where they will be able to
Clocking down. BoogieBac, you are a handsome fella! I totally mean that in a hetero way!
Wow, this is awkward...I feel like a third wheel on this post. Should I give you guys some alone time? [e digicons][/e]
Yet, you go on to say that the reason you wont include graphics in the first few beta builds is because it should be fun without them. The cloth map allows us to implement new features quickly and easilly (read: without making the 3d assets for them). If a new feature sucks, we can remove it without having wasted time on the assets. It's 1 step up from developing as ascii version...you get the gameplay fun, then add in the visual pizaz
32!!!! OMG! This is really awesome news. I can't wait to play epic games! Im also glad to hear that PAX was a success. ...I never understood why you guys keep talking about how the beta cloth map WONT BE FUN. Yet, you go on to say that the reason you wont include graphics in the first few beta builds is because it should be fun without them. Maybe I'm reading it wrong but seems a bit contradictory.
CapnWinky, you shouldn't have to send an army to scout. Sending a specialized recon unit or a squad of grunts (hoping one of them will make it back) should be an option too.
I never mentioned an army. Any of your customized units should have to explore any dungeon or what have you just like in real life. If I go explore a cave...I'm not going to find a piece of paper in the entrance telling me what's in there. N
I understand where you guys are coming from but I disagree. I think part of the fun of exploring ruins/dungeons/towers is not knowing what to expect. I think it's pretty cheap to get a bestiary report just by going up to a location. If you want to scout something out...then do it the ol' fashioned way and go explore and get the heck out of there if it's too dangerous. Now, this is based on the assumption that the locations mentioned above are explorable.
I just found another site w/ the same trailer but with the heading "PAX 2009 trailer." What the heck is going on?! So misleading... Hopefully we'll get some goodies tomorrow
I think you did an awesome job. I would've been able to tell what it was right away had you not made a description. I really like the aerial (top down) look. I hope you are involved in an LOTR mod when this game comes out.
I have to now change my answer to the building tiles.... Because I was doing it at PAX.
You need to invest in a video camera!!! [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e]
I thought I found a PAX trailer on gamershell but it turned out to be the old video. Happy Monday everyone!
Haha. Awesome update, Landi! +1 for the info! Keep us posted [e digicons]:D[/e]
Yea, it's still good but dude...you're at PAX....give us some info!
They've already taken care of it! No worries!
Awesome video!!!! One thing I thought was really cool was the channeler's cape was blowing in the wind. I love those minor details. However...the volcano kicked butt as well :) +1 karma for you. Thanks for sharing!
