I use non role playing names for cities, as well. Each city has a main name. Arcane, book, gold, etc. If the city has a strong second resource / production, I add the appropriate name after the main name. BTW, I almost always take a 'protector' at first settlement level up. ArcaneSW BookmaxE (for city with greatest tech research production in my kingdom. You get the idea. Everyone has their own style... and I hope this helps

I must confess i rarely watch TV. I have no cable. I watch TV sat eves, PBS, the britcoms (as time goes by, keeping up appearances) and when it is on, Dr,Who. Thats it. So, sorry, I can't help with the family show. But know, most quality TV shows get axed, and the trash keeps multiplying. No one ver went broke underestimating the tastes of the American people. Yes, one of the things about rivers is that many communities settle down near a river, but also choose a spot on the river where there is a waterfall. The falling water is used to power various tools, mills, etc. Civ never included waterefalls in their rivers. OH, and EWOM also has no waterfalls (smile).

Yes, I have received 5 notices in two day that a package is being delivered by UPS. They are in bulk mail folder. They are fake. But i'm am sure a virus is attached somewhere were i to 'look.' Perhaps our fav ways to set up DW vary some. i play in a VERY SMALL galaxy, usually spiral. So have a 3D affect on the map would just and a few layers. Your comments regarding Sword of the stars are accurate, the map takes LOTS of getting used to.

Yes, there are NO rivers. This has been 'discussed' to death in other forums on this site. I like rivers, and the original artwork showed rivers, LOL. But, they just don't exist on this cursed desert planet of Elemental. fertile land, yes - water for the thirsty land - nada.

Fistalis has said it all. One comment. The diplo capital is an item that you can add to your trades with other sovs to try and get a treaty, etc. In the trade window, it functions just like gold (money).

SPI, (Simulations Publications, INC - pre- PC/apple games) had a game where you ran 'businesses' in the local space near the SOL system. It played on a 3d hex map with all the stars, realistically located, within, I think around 50 Light years. It included trade missions, warehousing complexes, playing the stock/commdities market. building up your holdings, spys, sabotage, etc. Was a fun game. It cries for a PC version....

A SD FRPG is something I would greatly enjoy. There is ONE primary thing SD could do to make a truly memorable entry into the hall of fame. I agree that DW + Return Shakturi doesn't have awesome 3D graphics. I really would love to see DW ported to a 3D environment like Sword of the Stars has. Now that would be awesome. Pax galacticia?
