I'm stuck and need help. Is there any way to play Skyrim, once its installed, without having steam on? (the internet connection off?) Installed skyrim from CD. Also, when I turn steam on, internet connection OK, Skyrim doesn't show any of my saved games, and will only let me start a new game. I have, like, 7 or 8 saves in there. HELP PLEASE.... steam is new to me and seems like a pain....

Like fishing with dynamite or deer hunting with stinger missles, it's way too easy. One shot, one kill. [/quote] Actually, fishing with dynomite is not necessirally 'too easy.' You know the story of the Ice Fisherman who earned a Darwin Award? More than one shot, and m
I was excited about playing Witcher2. Installed the game, and all the auto patches (four, I think). Took a while to get used to the left click on appropriate place to get avatar to climb up, down, whatever. In first chapter, getting to ballastia to use against revolting forces... game kept resetting. No matter how many enemies I killed, no matter how many times I cleared the courtyard, just as avatar has pulled the arbalest back, and

@grizzyl__... its easy to 'prove a point' with testmonies, and citing incidents you have seen. But taking those incidents and expanding them to accuse, judge and convict whole classes of people is also a basic logical fallacy, and - this case - its just plain rude to some people. " Ya, everyone of the people that I know that take food stamps (except myself now untill I get my operation (2-4 hernias) sells the food stamps for @ 1/2 there worth so they can buy mor
@Gaston_DAoust what new fantasy strategy games do you mean?
Yes, the campaign was (is?) intended as a tutorial on some of the basics ... but is not really a campaign mini game or anything.
Andy Rooney ... was a creature of his time - flaws and all. He always, eventually, listened to the 'better angels of his nature.' And that's the greatest praise any person can earn. Andy earned it in spades. I will miss his wit and insight. RIP.
nested comment threads. thats makes much more sense. Thanks, worth checking out
Or, even better, upgrade it to "Daily random stuff."
when will the MS version be available?
@wizard 1956 actually, fishing with dynomite is NOT the easiest way to fish. One fine sportman actually earned a Darwin Award for his fishing venture. BTW, Darwin awards are only granted if, and after someone does something so stupid it actually kills them. Lost his uber-ATV. Lost his dog, too.
@StevenAus yes, with WOM 1.4 basically the last major upgrade of the game, a manual now (I think there is one already?) would not really have to have the stages (based on prior versions) embedded within it. You are right.
I would be happy to participate in such a project. Perhaps a number of us might agree to coordinate various portions of such a manual. One thing I have seen missing for otther on-line manuals is an easy method for users to access a version of the manual that matches whatever version of the game they are playing. I wouold suggest that changes made in each version of the program be embedded /placed in the manual where the predecesor / previous item is. I hated following
Japan does seem to be attracting mel downs lately. They are a truly resilient people.
@wizard 1956 yes. but remember the time honored tradition of Cook County (Chicago) of enabling the dead to vote (casting ballots for people already in the graveyards) neeeds to be updated. (smile)
Not just sports, or sightseeing. What about exploring dangerious places - like spluncking? Or asssisting rescue workers in dangerious rubble (earthquake collapsed buildings) in locating safe paths to extricate trapped and hurt people? And yes, g-d forbid, helping soldiers know whats around the corner, or in the next room when on patrol, etc.?
I have been reading the posts about the eMods, etc. When I get EWoM up again, I thing i will try the mods.... thay all work together well? err... play nice together.... and, may I was what the 'new' content entails? Thanks.....
Actually, the water is so polluted with elemental-magic-waste that it just 'consumes' nything that gets into it. The meager amounts of 'fresh-water' inside the lad masses are the only remaining 'safe' water supply for biological beings. (Sounds nice... sorta...)
