happy Halloween, hallo holidays, and thank you for the eye candy. Kael has been a house-word name for years, here. Now we know what he looks like. Be afraid, be very afraid... BOOOOOOO!!! :) And to all a sweet night.

weird wording, isn't it?
Thanks doc, I visit that site on occasion. Not in over a month. Safe?
I like the humor. I advocated, in the GalCiv3 threads for including the humor when many were playing the 'realism' card and asking to have the humor removed. (Realism is a space fantasy game? LOL) In any case, games include an element of entertainment. If many users don't like the humor, then provide them with a soft switch, at game setup, that turns off the humor parts of the in-game dialog. Add this option to the gamer/user options list.
I'm confused ... (more than usual) by this thread....
Thank you both! +1 karma, (both). Very helpful and incisive ifo, links, etc. :) :) :)
OK, I have several games that require steam to play. I almost always play in offline mode. Today I permitted steam to update two games. (I have auto update OFF to protect Skyrim from an update screwing up SKSE, etc.) I was able to play all the games updated except for CIV5. It won't let me play Civ5 in offline mode. I keep getting a dialog box that says the 'steam serves are too busy,' and an "error c
For me, theft is theft, unless it is required to save a life. Survival trumps private property rights.
I never suggested that multiple restarts were necessary. All I did was describe what I like, a type of game I dislike, and therefore why I might understand why someone else might dislike that kind of start to the game – a start reminiscent of the tower defense type game. I do wish the LH set up was moderated by the program that is better at weeding out really poor initial placements. Some setups, for some of us, are truly not worth investing OUR time into. (BTW, I rarely restart m
Stealing is stealing. Period. (Unless its a loaf of bread to keep from starving, or squatting in an abandoned structure to keep from freezing to death.)
Why do you want a perfect start? Work with what you get first time. The fun of the game is winning despite your problems and challenges
Perfect start - not necessary. A start which allows some real exploration (with tangible rewards balancing the risk), tactics, creating and implementing a strategy, what no not like? I enjoy challenges. However, I have found, with many 4x games, including FE/EH,
Phone the NSA for help?
A better project would be to just re issue Alpha Centauri with graphics updated to current standards. I'll bet Sid wishes he could take his name off the box....
Sailor moon fan. Started watching a series about a vampire - but was too creepy for me. Sailor moon it is.
Took out a cd from library: "Grumpier old men." And oldy - but hilarious.
Its always about power. Getting it. Keeping it. Expanding how much they have. And hindering competing power centers from 'interfering' with your own power growing plans. Its always about power.
Love the concept. Dungeon Keeper meets James Bond. Will keep an eye on this one - and hope it is not keeping an eye on me.
Oh, soup nazi - I had forgotten all about him! LOL.
James Comley is playing the 'crime card.' Its a variation on a theme that has been, and continues to be played by secretive portions of governments. We have to negate your rights from the bill of rights in order to protect you from 'terrorists.' Same dance, same tune. Sad.

Doc, you pic ( reply #10) looks like Dr. Moon. (I see the smart phone hanging around his neck - used for diagnosis purposes on house calls.) You been hanging out in "the Library" of Doctor Who? :)
Just wonderful all the life enhancing uses to which we are putting our technological advancements.
Russia has a it he same GDP as Italy. They're not china. I'm not sure how much leverage they have.
Russia's leverage consists of (1) the Ukraine and the Baltic states are on their border, proximity; (2) they have a sizable land army; (3) they have sizable Russian populations in the aforementioned countries; (4) they have significant historical reasons to fear invasions from western Europe
Seeing ghosts is like many other subjective, personalized events. Empirical evidence strongly suggests that they do not exist. I have friends who are convinced that some dead relative is still communicating with them. No evidence. However, it isn't worth the damage to the relationship challenging them beyond saying something like "I've never experienced anything like that...'
