It is not really relevent to compare a remake of a rts and Demigod. Starcraft 2 seems more like starcraft 1.1; yes Blizzard has the cash to assure that the game will be as polished as possible but it will not make it even a little original. The 2 games have very little in common, demigod is not really a rts, it is more an action-rpg set in a war background...
lol good job not understanding what he was saying. I lov

I like both of these ideas. Trade-offs and risk vs reward are always good elements in what hopes to be a competitive game. Force people to make tough decisions, don't make everything obviously a good choice. I like it.

Hipocracy ftw. So many people here love to hate on DotA and complain about the DotA playerbase, when they're just as elitist / close minded towards people who bring up DotA or who aren't diehard Stardock (Sins, Supreme Commander etc) fans. Sounds awesome, but is it possible for the game to make a sound / notify you when you it is minimized? The AIM example is well taken but I'm not sure it works like that.
Apparently we need mods now.
I'd be shocked if there weren't functionality for arranged pantheon groups. Would really hurt the popularity of that aspect of the game.

But what I never liked about DotA was there weren't any character builds. DotA was about memorizing how to play each hero. You bought pretty much the same items with that character each game, because those items worked best with it. It wasn't aabout makigna biuld with items to suit that bui
I didn't have a chance ot read it all, but the TB ideas sounded great, and the overall theme was right on the money. You're absolutely correct that the skills in the game currently are too straightforward, and there are too many passives and not enough actives. More of the actives should involve action / reaction, timing, or aim as opposed to simply point, click, and done. You also hit on something that has been bothering me, but that I didn't realize specifically - killin

A good reason why there ought to be a gold penalty for death....but yeah, clearly something that was overlooked.
Edit: There's no available update for me, meaning that my connectivity issues were with the most recent update.
Yeah, it's like a candy coated version of WC3 graphics, which is saying something. Diablo 3 doesn't come close to being like that stuff. Haha. But if they really focus on making it competitive / e-sporty then it may be worth playing despite the annoying art direction. I'm kind of glad the graphics are so decidedly different from Demigod, though. Means it's even more likely that the games will play and feel differently enough to be worth having bo
League of Legends...did they just get the WC3 engine for that game? I just looked at screenshots and the graphics look almost the same as WC3. Art style looks very silly. Don't really know anything about the gameplay Edit: just looked into LoL a bit more....the graphics suck, but I have to say it sounds a bit more promising. already a huge following (mainly from the dota community) and the game seems to be headed in a more dota-like competi
Pretty much all good ideas, unfortunately it appears to be kind of beyond the time where they take such ideas into consideration. :-\

Whatever Battle.net is, I tend to think of that as the ideal. :P (but Blizz has lots of money so it's not surprising that their online client is great...and it wasn't always that way)

Yes, just as easy as it is for other demigods to get more HP or any other item that helps counter TB combo, or UB attack speed. This is fine too, since it's one of Regulas currently least desired skills, and takes 3 points for low duration high slow. This change will sort of buff that skill, make it more desirable. Mainly I just don't understand why the maps have to be so flat and geometric. Certainly some more interesting things could have been done with Fog of War simply by having elevation / obstacles / buildings etc as others have said.
