I'm not saying there's not more that needs to happen, but for a day0 patch this would be fantastic.
I think "e-sport" is a charged and misleading term. What we should be focused on is just trying to make this game long lasting and rewarding, which for most people who play it more than a few hours a week will mean some kind of competitive scene - a venue for players to work at getting better and continuously challenge one another. I'm familiar with gamereplays.org, they were the other popular site for AoE3. However, AgeSanctuary was more active and focuse
We'll need: - At least one major fansite mostly devoted to competitive Demigod with replay uploading and commentary as well as active forums (I'm thinking along the lines of AgeSanctuary if anybody is familiar with that) - A good online matchmaking and ranking system - Frequent online tournaments which are easy to enter and don't last a very long time <stro

I'll be disappointed if there are any AI in Pantheon on release.
It's good but I would recommend waiting for perhaps some kind of demo or at least some in depth reviews from various sources (don't worry so much about number ratings, just the reviews) and then decide for yourself. Don't hurry to buy the game yet. You can ask for basic impressions here on these forums but remember that most of the people here already preordered it and most of the people here have a strong opinion one way or the other. The specific things that will make some
"promises" made before the actual release don't mean anything, stuff always gets pushed back, it's natural. and if the game doesn't happen to work on your machine but it works on everybody else's...don't blame the developers.
We've all been there. An ally leaves, and the AI takes over. The AI is stupid almost to the point of being funny, and simply feeds the opponent in most cases. For matches between inexperienced players, it will be acceptable for leavers to be replaced by Hard or Nightmare AI. In games with players who are even moderately experienced however, it will be even more a handicap than having no ally at all. In light of that, I believe there ought to be a setting in the
I agree that disconnecting should hurt your record. I also think, however (and I'm not sure how this could be accomplished) that somebody who has a lot of disconnects should have the ability to "rehabilitate" their account and their record. I say this because in the past I've played RTS while having a really terrible and unreliable internet connection, and my record and rating were terrible for a long while because of all the disconnects I got even after my conn
PI - you are the poster child of the obnoxious Dota fans. If you had been around here for even more than a few weeks you would know how much Frogboy and all the Stardock and GPG people have taken people's suggestions very seriously and put them into the game. Your definition of what is close minded is someone not being willing, at the 11th hour, to turn Demigod into a Dota clone. We get it, you like Dota. Please, for the love of
I can't agree with that. I think it should be possible to a team to disable a hero until his death.
No. Team work is one thing, but completely removing players from combat for extended periods of time is unacceptable. Not only is it silly and bad for competition, but it's terribly un-fun. There are much better and more interesting ways to promote teamwork without having stun-locking in the game.
Unfortunately it's difficult to upgrade the video card on a laptop. that's why if you want to play games on your laptop you need to buy one with a non-integrated VPU
The only luck I'm okay with having in the game is damage ranges (like weapon damage which does damage between a min and a max) because that doesn't have a significant impact on gameplay.

Eh, I'm not a fan of luck in what purports to be a competitive game. There are better solutions to the stun lock problem than making stuns affected by chance. Even with 50% or 25% or 10% there still a chance somebody could be repeatedly stunned for 5-6 seconds if the current stun durations are not changed. In any case, I want killing an opponent or surviving an opponent's attack to be about skill, not about whether or not their ability happened to stun me.
Yes, stun locking is not only game breaking, but it is very easy to do. However, I still assert that no matter how difficult it is to accomplish, a player should never be entirely removed from combat (re: they might as well sit back and watch) for more than 2 seconds at a time. Anything longer than that is simply frustrating and too powerful even if it takes a genius to pull it off. There are far more interesting and elegant mechanics and abilities that can be incorporated i

Once everybody on the other team leaves it should be a default win for the team still in the game. Period, end of the story. Problem solved. As for early leavers, I quite like how it's handled in Starcraft: If the game ends (people leave) in the first 2:00, it's counted as a draw. As long as they include a pest list for people who consistently leave games, that should be enough.
