Who wants a HUG!!!! Seriously, this looks just a wee bit creepy....... the save unit screen has him posed like this when it comes up: switching to any other pose will work, and there is no button that restores the "default".

Never mind.....

Banned for attacking. This threat will not be permitted to continue.
I guess we're just going to have to bite the bullet and choose death or taxes. I know which way I'm going to go. Natural selection should (hopefully) deal with the rest.

Holy. Crap. I assume all this will make the game less unfun? I'm looking foreward to playing this if I can tear myself away from trig long enough.
I'm still a wee bit undecided on in-world-context jokes.... depends on the setting, I think: it's one thing for the thugs sitting around a campfire to start a humorous drinking song or two, and quite another for the two soverigns slinging (non-electric) lightening at one another to start cracking puns. Anything that actually breaks the world of the game, though, is definately not on my "include" list.
Banned for so saying.
Banned for denying his right to soverignty over lamps.

So far I'm finding the curriculum pretty sensible... I've got polynomials more or less figured out, and the theorems are going at a rate of about one every two days.
When you said "radically different food sources" I immediately thought of the Fallen and.... other Fallen. But aside from that... errm... avenue, this sort of system would really make things interesting when it comes to protracted wars deep into enemy territory: your cities filled with your citizens are doing just fin on their wheat and oranges, then you take over a Fallen town and your occupying army gets to feast... on grubs and the occasional boiled brain.
I've a tendency to agree with the hand here: the whole epic battle of life and death we're seeing here in EWOM would probably not be all that conducive to humorous quips. I also doubt that they will be added into the default game.
I'm disappointed that despite all the forum pressure we still don't have equal-gender or faction-specific-sexism dynasty systems in any way, shape, or form. If this is because of the beta restrictions, please feel free to tell us... we can handle it. Also, while this radius thing is definately an improvement, I still forsee problems with hard-maxing out cities with no apparent reason. Have to go to school right now.... more critiques in seven hours.
Banned for suggesting he be ashamed of losing shame.
Banned because you know exactly where that ryat's been...
I've always been suspicious of over-randomization and come up with a Rule Of Doubling : If an element of the game is randomized, then the other aspects of the game depending on that element should be left in the player's control. Why? Because while people should definately have to react to unexpected situations if the game is to be fun, they should be able to decide how to react, and impliment those steps. For example, if the resources you wind up with at the
The one thing I have grown a wee bit concerned about is people gaming the event systems to get certain tactical outcomes.... without the dev supporting it: these sorts of manipulations could really be quite fun if the game was built with that in mind (fulfilling the conditions of ancient prophecies, setting the conditions needed to summon crap, that sort of thing), but if the lore and text and feel of the game don't support this system and instead create the impression that t
Customization, which seems to have a strong place in Elemental's overall design so far, is good. Appearance customization, with no mechanical effects, is also good. A gender option is good, but it should belong almost entirely to the latter category.
I think this pretty much sums up the points of most everyone here.
