Ban idea: throwing water balloons at the governor's kids from you squad car as a prank.
Do you mean to replace the "Spell of Making" (Elemental's equivalent to MoM's Spell of Mastery) with this, or in addition to it?
Me and everybody else assumed that he meant "replace", and he didn't correct us, so I am still assuming replace. I most definately agree with all of your statements, having expressed many of them myself. However, I would VERY much like to knwo where you got ahold of thqat info on the "spell of making"!
I remember a Popular Science article from a long time ago about how it would be possible to build a special warhead that specifically produces a much wider-spread EMP effect. Although you do have a point: these people can't even make their regula r bombs work half the time. I don't think the technology exists to perform a working EMP strike, and even if it does, it's in the hands of the US, and maybe Russia. Besides, if you are a terrorist and have five nukes and the
Bad idea: going to a football conference and screaming "ST Ru13z!!"
It took the bulk of the US air force to airlift 1 city during the Berlin airlift.
In the 1940s. The technology has significantly improved since then. Cargo planes cross the Atlantic all the time. If worst came to worst, they could always rip the seats out of passenger airliners and use them. One thing I was thinking about: people would notice that this wasn't a regular blackout. Thanks to bad sci-fi video games, the concept of an EMP is relatively well known. Pe
Less movement on the map sizes we are talking about here could tick a lot of people off. Scripting could tick the noobs off. It could also tick the devs off. You still have the problem of wasted moves due to bad AI. I'm not entirely sure if it will be any faster: people will still take the time to order each individual unit around, and defferring the movement to another phase probably won't fix that.
Bad idea. Giving a toy dragon to the kid of one of those anti-Harry Potter people. Who is there. And who has a shotgun.
I personally don't mind as long as there is a pause button that still allows you to issue orders.
If I remember correctly, vaccine actually BOOST the immune system, as its activity is increased when they are preasant. In any event, terrorist do not strike me as very bright people, and I doubt that they could pull this off. Also, Brad ignored the fact that a lot of aid would be coming by plane, as opposed to by road: the Air Force often uses those big cargo planes to drop food & suppli9es, and I believe that the technology is common to other developed countries around the world
I'm HOPING yhat he used quotes because turns aren't the exact opposite of real-time. A more appropriate version would be something like
(from “turns” to seconds ).
or
(from Turn-Based to real-time)
I'm just hoping that they actually are turns. The alternative is not pretty.
Good Idea: Get the GC2 library back online.
Sounds good. Of course, this spell should give you infinite mana and personal immortality, just to rub it in.
What I am saying is, in a single-turn system, you get to redirect your unit every time you move. If you see something you weren't expoecting, you can turn around and go back. With an execution phase, that option is taken away: your units ocntunue along their preset course regardless of who or what is in the way, and you have no ability to turn them back until the next turn.
You mean turns/RTS is optional!? All hail the frog! I just hope the turns aren't timed. That would be horrible.
Artwork is a good idea. That, and special units that are analogous (stat-wise) to existing units (i.e. if you can keep up an army made entirely of undeads, you get the Gold Zombie). That, and pieces of the backstory.
My mistake on the terminology: no essence maintenance, unless it's something really, really huge. Like, dimension-busting huge. Even then it should not be a lot. I also agree that you should be able to gain essence.
Assuming you mean never in one game as opposed to never period, it looks like a good idea. Except for the last one. [e digicons]:dog:[/e]
The problem with that is the fact that you have no ability to change your orders when things change: when you are attacking an enemy city, you can't attempt to withdraw when wierd things show up. Your reaction times are severely curtailed and can blunde rinto dangerous things.
I understand what you are talking about with the AI "stream-of-consciousness". However, this "marger" thing had better be a last-ditch effort when someone is thruly getting clobbered: otherise, you could just "absorb" AIs that still have some fight in them.
Well, good automation goes a long way to cleaning up micro. I suppose you could set up the AI to manage the finer points of an economy. If you still hold the reins on the finer stuff, I don't think that it would have much screwup potential.
Music would be nice... if there is any yet. Although I am not sure if the forums support MP3s... ahh well: there's always YouTube.
I don't think that this is trolling so much as it is somebody not realising the off-topic forums are shared by multiple sites. Next time, remember to use the OT that comes from the list AFTER the game title.
Just as long as it actually works. Although I suppose in a foreign policy situation, I could justify it going either way: nationalism does funny things to people.
I agree. If you are winning, those AIs that like you should suck up to you. However, every one of us here (probably) would think nothing of abusing that devotion and leaving the AI behind with the rubble, so some sort of other system may also need to be added.
Actually,
The ultimate elite army would be the essence hoarding chaneller with heroes ... Mwahaha
A single, all-powerful channeler is the ultimate elete.
