You find an old world resource that is an established kennel where they've breeded war dogs for hundreds of years. There aren't any arctic stamps in the vanilla game. I have a few in the stormworld_rivermod (stormworld 1.5o) although they are not limited to arctic maps.

I honestly don't know how dodge and ranged dodge combines. The unitstat background mod ( https://forums.elementalgame.com/417871 ) has stats for mounted and oversized enemies.
Generally no. You can make it sort of transparent but if people have outlines on they will still see outlines around the tail. PS. Texture -> 3d model aka Mesh -> Skeleton -> Animations. The texture and its coordinates is declared in the mesh, not the skeleton.

You should have no problems making a trait unlock a building.
It's not just "getting a strong monster early on", it's also the fact that it doesn't fit its lore (it is already bound by magics to guard the area) and that it guards one of the very few places that drop trophies in Stormworld.
The centaurs are nomads, it'd fit them best.
The modifier probably just doesn't support those types of calculations.
