@Kalin 30 objects is really a guideline. The most important thing is not wasting polygons for the user - they stack up quickly. For a complete waste of polygons, check out the irrigation system. For the crystal foundry, it would just look stupid if you removed things from the resource tile, so it's unavoidable in that tile. I don't think it looks too fantasy. It's a crystal foundry for an elven race in a fantasy game. @John_Hughes GREAT WORK on both. I like the fountains in the univer

Looks good to me. Maybe scale back on the big tree a bit in the embassy. That tree is fairly common as a centerpiece in our designs, and it's getting slightly repetitive. Guys, what's happening with the city hubs? Kalin, I have to say the screenshot does look amazing. However, if noone is ready to make a commitment to actually make that happen, we will just stick with the original plan. So. oddrheia has offered to modify level 0-3 to include a growing tree structure. Is anyone
Raven_X's skins
I have to agree with Raven_X... the mod forum is hardly drowning in threads. PS. The elf race mod has only one thread. The other is a stand-alone thread, not affiliated. =)
Unfortunately, the tag that separates capital from normal city don't work.
I'm going to send out another PM today to people who have reserved buildings, but are not actively participating in the discussion in this thread. The contents will be that they should either finish what they are working on, or I will let other people try the tiles they've reserved - probably at the end of the weekend. I hope that we can get this released early next week (assuming 1.0.9 has been released by then). Edit:
Hey, Just a heads up, the Elf
I'm giving up on the quarries. All I'm ending up is a couple of tents, no inspiration whatsoever.
Oh... nice bow! I'll gladly grab that, too. *greedy grin*
@John_Hughes I have to agree with Kalin I don't think the "blue" stuff fits. It will stand out too much. Most buildings are unique in nature, but that, I think, is going a bit too far. I like the idea of a sort of pyramid on 4 pillars and a small entrance underneath, it looks wicked. @Raven X sent you 2 pms. @Kalin well done. oddrheia has reserved the cityhubs, but if possible, do you think you could share the design you made anyway? I was talking about something on IR
You know what... it makes no sense that they wouldn't have bows from the start. So it would be bows, warriors from both genders, and one more 10% bonus - either materials or intelligence. And then 15% less prestige. Tomorrow I'm going to see if I can do some of the unit texture reskins. Edit: Damn... well with 15% less prestige, I think we can afford great warriors (combat speed) as well?
Thanks for the comment. Yes you can use any of the items I make here in your mod, however do note I will not restrict use of any of the weapons/armor that is released here.
That's perfect. I didn't mean that I wanted it to ONLY be in the elf race mod, I meant that I wanted it there AS WELL. [e digicons]:D[/e]
By any chance do you think we could include the longsword in the Elf race mod coming up? I think it would fit perfectly. Good job on the models, very nicely done.
If it's in red you can pretty much just start it and drop a comment saying you started it. Unless you've got like 4 reserved already.
I haven't started doing that yet. Was planning in doing it all in one go.
I sent a message to BoogieBac in which I pointed out three things, first was the suggestion nearly shared by all who have used the builder's forge: add numbers to the slides so we can adjust position and scale and such in whatever size we want. secondly was the suggestion that we should be able to add environment types on our own and third was a general complaint that they were adding content to the game that us modders couldn't change. I have al
Nothing's scrapped, I'd say. It's all ideas at this time. Personally I don't like the idea of arcane research bonus because spells are already researched so damn fast. A 10% essence bonus would be more appropriate, I think (if you're looking for a way to show off how in tune with magic they are). A 10% intelligence bonus is not out of the question either. Something like less constitution could be done, but we'd need some pretty major bonus to outweigh even a -1 in constitution. For el
Nowhere, really. As a flaw, I'd like to see 10-15% less prestige. As a bonus, I'd like to see 10% more materials, the Great Warriors trait, and Egalitarian (for free).
We could, but we won't. Unfortunately, a side-effect of that is that you can turn any forest into flat land as long as you can reach it with a building. Edit: Actually, that might be an appropriate race bonus (to build in woodn tiles)! Well done for reminding me. How does everyone else feel about it?
Go for it.
That bloody Gandhi. History remembers him wrong!
The picket wall will just be what the kingdom city level 1 looks like, a high wooden barricade. Except, you know, trees. PS. Your background description is better. Edit: Actually, I would edit it again
The elves were a weak race once. In the times of old, they made their living amongst the forests of the world, trusting in nature to provide both protection and comfort. But <span style="background-color: #
Yeaup, there are some massive bugs in Civ5, and yup, the AI is just as terrible as it is in Elemental. There are a few more unit abilities, but on the other hand there's nothing that is similar to magic. For the player, I think the depth of the gameplay is about the same (=shallow). The largest difference is in graphics. Civ5 looks a lot better. Elemental devs seemed to think that because the world had been ruined, they could leave it mostly empty and bland. Bad choice. And even thoug
