I think we're not really understanding each other. This is how it works. You follow your avatar around from a third person perspective. The mouse is used to aim both the camera and the character, ie when you move the mouse the whole screen turns along with your character.

But that's how it looks, you see your character from behind in a third person perspective. It's not FPS. I didn't actually think about it, but now that you mention it - there aren't keys for turning. So yeah, if you use keys to turn that's bad. But since you place towers and walls with the mouse around you, you use it all the time.

What's the problem with the camera? Works just like it should, imho. What's a "chase camera"?

I just wanted to make a post to recommend this game to everyone who enjoys either tower defense games or defensive rpg games. This game is amazing. There is a huge focus on upgrading your character's abilities and towers. As you level up, you unlock new abilities. You don't get a choice in what abilities you get, they are decided based on your class - each class has different sets of towers and abilities. You can also upgrade individual items, such as swords or armor. There is also a m
Oh, you did a great job on them. I think of them as part of the core game now. I hope that you have time to do as much for FE as you did for WoM. Unfortunately I will be at sea about the time FE comes out, so I probably won't get much modding time until next fall. I would hope that the increase in game quality will attract a few more to the mod community. It's probably the easiest game to mod that I have played.
The plan

Even to this day, there is a gross mismatch between player expectation and development intentions with E:wom. So they chose another approach for FE, which is to "do, not tell".
quoting post There will be no real marketing effort for Fallen Enchantress in 2011. Basically, the betas are going to have to speak for themselves. Then I don't see why you can't give us more info about the game. You blamed some PR or marketing people for it, but since you're not going to market it, who cares?!
Remember how lots of talk worked out for E:wom?

This sort of dynamic 3d modelling is incredibly complex. We're talking years of development just to achieve something like that. It is well beyond a semi-independent game like Fallen Enchantress. In fact as far as I know, it has only ever been achieved in two engines, the engine for Spore, and dx11 tesselation. Edit: Oh yeah, there was a 3d rts game as well, which half-assed it... can't think of the name though.

I would just like to point out that cancer is generally considered diseases. So it's not off the table completely. Personally I am hoping for something less than fatal, I would settle for chronic. Actually, this whole analogy is rather dark.

I really hope they can throw some curve balls with TN. It's got dinosaurs, it's got some rebel faction, and there's a time rift. It just feels like it could get old very quickly. They really need to bring the time rift into the equation, because it's the only thing that keeps the show interesting imho. Maybe an army comes through the next time, or people from another timeline, or another future, or another world. I just want the story to progress somewhere. All these s

Glad you enjoy the mods! Self-promotion time - GO! After the War is meant to fix some of the more annoying design issues and bugs with the game, but really it's a matter of adding 0.1% polish to an almost finished product. My personal recommendation is that everyone use this. ExpandedFactions is there to put some fantasy races in a fantasy game, a lot of people have

The XML for spells is highly limited. Effects can only occur on one "target", so you can't have a spell that for example drains 5 intelligence from the caster and deals magic damage to the target. You also can't do a spell that deals damage to the target, and 25% of that damage to everyone surrounding the main target. I can require more than one shard, yes. I can base damage off of % rather than variables, yes. I'm not really looking for just ideas. If you want to

I've been thinking the same thing. Tier 5 mounts (dragons) are restricted to dungeons. I might do the same for tier 5 weapons. Will have to think of a way to give the AI loot though.
