I think we need an early-game use for metal. Put a pick-axe in mining or something. Anything to give us something to spend metal on in the first 120 turns before we get to "blacksmithing" (which afaik has the first metal use). Crystal is much better, there we get two rings from the same tech we learn to harvest crystal. Metal could learn from that. Yes, I'm anthropomorphising.

The AI is still getting steam-rolled by me. Where are the dreaded multi-army groups attacking my civilization? This is how my game went against a challenging AI playing Umber. Turn 90 - umber declares war on me Turn 130 - still not a single attacker from umber that has come into my territory. Turn 150 - still no enemy in sight. I finish my stack of doom. It has 2 champions with bows, and 5 spearmen units with leather armor (5 members each). I go on the offensiv
In addition, spells cast by monsters do not respect the tag. For example, I met an enemy champion that I engaged in combat. From turn one, he started spamming burning hands all over the battlefield.
For example, I met a black widow. The monster kept spamming tangled web until all my units had it on them. According to the XML, Tangled Web is supposed to have a 5 turn cooldown:
5
the monster is not respecting that.
Still present in 0.85
I met a mite mob that had 3 attack, 0.5 each for 5 unit members. The unit hit me for 5 damage, against a defender with 4 defense. They should not be able to hit that hard against that target. Some rounding error somewhere? edit: they always hit for at least 1 damage per unit member.
I can drink the potion of fire resistance on the strategic map.
I equipped the Ignys bow on my hero and attacked a bandit and his dog. For some reason, the dog absorbed all the damage in autoresolve, so I got killed by them.
When I create custom sovereigns, they sometimes get the wrong base stats and the wrong racetype. One guy I created for the pariden faction:
1 20.0000 &n
No workshop [e digicons][/e]
Without playing it, I still think every change in the notes are for the better. But there are also things missing. What's being done about city building? Has the trait system changed to allow for more transparency?
I don't inherently see a problem with spells scaling from a particular shard, and being able to change them. It only changes what the nature of the change-spell is: it's not a short-time quick-fix for your faction, it's a deliberate long-term strategy with a high cost.
Trust me on this: The game will be AWESOME. This is the game people have been waiting for in this area. While other games in this genre keep retreading DOTA, Ironclad is the one taking it to its next logical step.
The "next logical step" will decide whether this game fails or succeeds. If it's just a DOTA clone, it's going to fail (saturated market shares). If it's a DOTA clone with lots of new features nobody
https://beta.guildwars2.com/ Just thought I'd post this, as I remember reading quite a few posts about guild wars when mmorpgs were more popular. The link takes you to a site where you can sign up for a chance to get into the Guild Wars 2 beta when that happens. The sign-ups will supposedly be limited to 2 days, according to Rock Paper Shotgun (edit: also <a href="http://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/sign-up-now-for-the-guild-wars-2-beta.htm
From the sounds of it, you can keep playing the exact same game, only your score for the game will not change after that.
I usually go for research that use the resources I have though, maybe that's why? Anyway, let's see how things develop in beta 2, where army units are hopefully more "viable" compared to heroes.
Imho it works great like it is now. I never felt I had an abundance of either metal or crystal, never "too much to use" in the mid-game or late-game if I had done my research in warfare (metal) or magic (crystals).
It's the perfect "I wasn't looking" face after she turns.
Can you sum it up for me?
If you can't make money doing it, don't do it.
Give us rally points and "time to destination" on the overlay path then. It's features that should be in anyway.
Frogboy, can you not nerf the new high-functioning AI before players get a hold of it, to see how WE play against it?

There are no guarantees with a shared memory gpu.
Oh, you're talking about the screen where we create custom sovereigns? Yeah, I could see some complications arising there. I was talking about level-up traits. The custom sov screen most likely was not set up to accommodate the prereq thing
