That's a lot easier to understand than the previous accuracy vs dodge system, anyway. I hope they do something about the attack vs defense system too, it is also difficult to understand at a glance.

All the base stats did was muddy the waters. Why have strength that gives +attack and +carry when you can just have a trait that is called "strength" and gives those instead? They were intermediaries with no purpose. And still, I will miss them. Having the basic strength, dexterity, intelligence, constitution stats makes the game feel old school somehow.
Sounds like an interesting update! Will you be unlocking the workshop in beta3? Love the sound of iron golems and wageless slaves. That's the kind of neat stuff the game needs.

If anyone can think of a reason to keep the metal/crystal cost stats on equipment, please say so now. Otherwise I'm going to remove them. The problem is the same as before - the costs only exist for unit design items, not magical items found in the wild (which is mostly what champions wear). Also, they are not accurate if you have abilities like Armorer to reduce metalcost of produced units. This makes them inaccurate and useless. Instead of using metalcost or crystalcost, I would

For those that have followed other topics I've created, those threads will be "abandoned" now (except the UnitStat Background mod). I realized that it was a hassle to work with several different releases that required updating whenever another mod was updated. So instead of working with 4+ different topics, I will work with one topic alone. The Stormworld pack contains ExpandedFactions, the Rivermod, Reliquary, plus some other things. Cautiously optimistic, by the sounds of it. Rps os the only Pc game site I frequent, although they can get a bit dug in with their viewpoints from time to time, their summaries of game flaws is the best there is.
Maybe it just needs to be stronger. What is the Point of splitting it into another 3 stats?

Played diablo2 until my ass was rotting. Diablo 3 is my most anticipated game of 2012.
A big "no thanks" to making them separate. Choosing between magic and might is a great choice shaped by a lot of other factors. I see absolutely no reason to take away that choice just so you can get stuff faster.
A few traits, a few abilities, and a few personal items would be a good start. It would be cool if some champions had items that you couldn't just take away from them - personal items, like a mount or a sword attuned to the person, or maybe just a personal heirloom.
