Personally, I would like to see some that aren't humanoid. Dragons are probably a no-go, but a giant lizard or something? Not just half scorpion, but a whole, giant scorpion. Giant flaming eye of Sauron? Failing that, I like Luckmann's archetype suggestions.
It mustn't prolong the game as I want fast games like Age of Wonders on small and medium maps.
Quoting kyogre12, reply 7For tolls, I think that for every turn a caravan is in someone else's territory, part of its income is "taxed" The player who owns it doesn't make quite as much, and the player whose territory it's in gains a little income. Although this might encourage really short caravan routes that only go to border towns/cities, so maybe it isn't the best idea... That may or may not be relevant to Elemental, though (and I'm guessing no). I don't really see anyth
I preordered it at a point when it costed less than it does now. I even contacted sales about it (I assume thats melibee) for fear I didn't have the collector's edition somehow, but was assured its just because I was one of the first to pre-order. at the time it was $40 or $45 (don't remember exactly) so the 20% off thing might have been missed already.
There was a time when it was cheaper?!
And how about, caravan spread influence/border? And if the caravan has not travel that area for long time, the border dwindles? After all, caravan means trade route & trade route spread influences.I like this idea. Reinforces the importance of spreading and defending your trade routes.
seconded
hmm... yeah, it seems to be a problem with the Sins of a Solar Empire forums specifically. I looked on the Demigod and Elemental forums, and my karma displays fine. EDIT: Scratch that. I was looking at other people's karma from the Elemental forums, and I ran into the same problem.

I agree for the most part with pigeonpigeon's suggestions, although I'm not sure if I like the idea of them slowly growing towards eachother (unless the pop. of the city is increasing) Although maybe there could be some special unit that can claim currently un-used land. Kind of like how during the colonial ages if you planted a flag in the ground, you claimed that area for your country. You could use something like this to connect far off cities to the rest of your empire. I like his
No single channeler should ever be the ultimate mage of all the elements at once. You should always have to make a choice as to what you're going to have access to. Do I want fire or earth? Do I want air or water? Where do I specialize? Not just "I'll take it all".
I kind of agree with this. I don't think you should have to limit yourself to just one or two, but if you have all 4/5, you will be weak in all of them, where as if you choose 1 or 2 you are significantly str

I think it would be cool if the things way at the end of the tech tree require both the tech and magic. So, for example, lets say that the city-destroying superweapon is a gaint (really really giant, how else will it be able to hit far off cities?) trebuchet. It hurls a projectile infused with a huge amount of magic. So you have to research the giant trebuchet, but you have to use magic to make it a true superweapon. And maybe, depending on what the time-period is, if air-sh
Four "positions" for the tactical combat setting at the beginning of the game: Tactical is for the TC junkies: all battles are tactical. Auto is for the lazy/impatient people: all battles are auto-resolved. Choice is a balance between them: you can selecty tactical or auto-resolve before the beginning of each battle. Replay is something a little different: all battles are auto-resolved, but at the end you can choose to re-fight the battle tactically if you think you can do better. Obvi
