One thing I noticed: On the screenie with the base, the small tower in the front with the bridge going to it seems to be very flat. intent or accident? Regarding the file format: One of the Stardockers said somewhere something about "firing up 3DSMax or Maya". Maybe this will help you out regarding which format could be used. In case you haven't noticed, I really like LotR. And I think that Barad-dur from the movies looks amazing. So, I decided to model it, so that when we eventually get the full 3d experience (January or whenever) I would have the fully modeled and textured Dark Towe
Sins and Demigod also had Collector's Editions. However, if you pre-ordered the digital-only version (which can't be collector's since there is no box), there was no way to upgrade to the CE box. However, it has been stated somewhere that "someday there may be an upgrade button" that would allow people to upgrade to the retail (and thus collector's) box.
For sins and Demigod, after release there was a way to upgrade to the CE box. It just takes some digging
I just recently reread the books (gee, I wonder why? ) so my memory is fairly fresh. They blamed their difficulties Caradhras 'himself', not Saruman, because he (it?) doesn't like men. Now, whether Saruman decided to stir the pot (or not) isn't said, but it's the movie where it's clearly spelled out that Saruman is involved.
Ok, I obviously didn't remember that well. I guess I should go reread them now[e di
Also, how would diplomacy work?
I assumed this would work, well, like Gandalf. You would basicly "advise" other players. If you think a player is doing something stupid/wrong, you "help" them out, for a price. I assume that some people would be willing to pay quite a bit (be it essence, gold, protection, etc) for a "freelancer" Some one who isn't tied down by running an empire, etc. If a channeler does need to protect shards, then they could offer their service
Something else about this is that Saruman, who is supposedly "stronger" than Gandalf--at the beginning, at least--seems to use even less magic. The only thing I can really remember him doing is the storm on Caradhras (that was him, right?) Movie, yes, books, no. In the books, Caradhras just doesn't like people trying to climb over it. But don't forget the chase scene, where he (albiet subtly) aids the orcs and hinders the rescuers.
I seem to remember him bein
While Scoutdog and kyogre12 have both raised very valid concerns -- ones which I share, truth be told -- I suspect Willythemailboy has hit upon one of the keys for keeping things balanced. If you do in fact "go Gandalf" and leave your nation behind, you risk losing it to your enemy(ies), and thus the source of your mana. In addition, if your Channeler is off doing their best "conquistador" impression, then they're also *not* si
It's actually interesting how little Gandalf used direct power. Something I liked tremendously was that the most powerful acts of magic were the most subtle. Agreed, that's always fascinated me. The power of the wizards seemed to lie less in throwing fire and lightning around, and more in subtle shifts and changes in the world around them. (During the chase of the orcs, 'soem strange will pits itself against [th
This is something I had been wondering myself. The problem I see with making channelers powerful enough to take a beating is; what if you decide to "go Gandalf?" If an "average" channeler can survive an army for a moderate period of time, what about the channeler that has everything put into making him/herself stronger? Then "Gandalf" could just walk right across enemy borders. wade effortlessly through armies up to the enemy channeler's tower and duel them, and probably win, becaus
