I always had issues with the pride stuff, mainly because they're for things a person doesn't CHOOSE to be. How can I be proud of being a straight white woman when I did nothing to ensure that's what I was?! I was BORN that way, and being BORN that way is the very reason we shouldn't judge people for their ethnicity or sexual preference. I am proud of the things I've accomplished, but not of who I am--I'm not a

Rats - a lot of Stardock customers are probably going to be a little po'ed about that. Especially having to re-download Deskscapes dreams which we may not have access to anymore since there's a subscription involved.

In order to update (install downloaded version), at least for Deskscapes and I assume Fences too, it's saying I first need to uninstall - ack. If I uninstall via Impulse won't I lose all my configuration of both?

I decided to renew my expired OD sub with the $10 off deal I just got in the mail - did so via the Stardock store and so on, no problems. But when I try to update Fences Pro, Deskscapes, etc via Impulse it says the registration is invalid. Is something wrong or do we need to download things individually now? Isn't there a way to get Impulse to update this stuff automatically anymore?

I just HAVE to bring this thread back because it'd be freakin cool - Galciv is a game that would benefit hugely from *any* sort of multimonitor support. Would there happen to be any updates or info regarding this?

When running Fences Pro in 'eyefinity' mode spanning 3 monitors, at resolution 6036x1200, the fences stretch for some reason. Shouldn't they stay on the first (leftmost) monitor without stretching and looking absurd? Not sure if there's a reason but it's as if setting fence size is actually saving a % (of the monitor res) rather than using a hard coded width/height/x/y. Using simple hard coded dimensions and position would be much better for me (optiona

This would be a nice feature to have in Fences. I work on a lot of various "projects" switching between them often. I generally have one area of my desktop where I like to store "stuff" that I'm currently working with. (If I just created a fence for each project, it'd take up the entire desktop easy and turn into a mess.) So I tend to do a lot of moving files around in and out of my staging/working fence when switching projects. If that fence were simpl

I've been trying on and off to change the skin for an old version of Paint Shop Pro (5) which I prefer over the garbage out there now, but I've never been able to get what I need. I know Windowblinds CAN skin it because if I apply a system wide theme it works. But when I try to do the "per application" theme and select the exe, it never works no matter what I try. I don't think I care about theming my entire OS (there's always SOME app which looks bad and I prefer button

Are updates still being put out for GCII? Found this (slightly edited) old post I wrote years back and thought it worthy of getting some attention outside of the massive thread it was buried in. Assuming there's still the occasional update going out anyway. It'd be nice to have an 'auto tax' feature that will optimize your tax level based on a target (average) approval level. I mess with that tax slider alot, and it does get old. Alternatively, some people m

All this whining is getting old and I don't even frequent this board. Nobody was forced to buy this game. That's the nice thing about buying something, it has to be a mutual agreement. If you're a "sensitive" gamer and unwilling to take a risk, or have limited financial assets to spend on gaming, yet you were lazy and purchased the game without doing the BASIC research (one damn Google query or a single review would have been enough) which would have alerted you to it's im

Seriously considering MoM actually. Maybe Master of Orion or Sid Meier's Colonization, I'm in a "wtf why can't gamedevs even give us simple clones of old classics without the infuriating UI and compatibility issues" kind of mood right now. Heck at this point I'd be happy with even some identical clones (-the UI and maybe with better graphics) with good mod-ability and an active community.

You're ignoring all the 'taken for granted (by players)' stuff in writing software which has already been completed, but okay. The point wasn't to specify some arbitrary % complete which has no meaning, the point was that it's fixable over time and doesn't need a total rewrite (which would be a fail).
The problem I have is that when I pay $50 for a game, I expect it to be complete - not the utter mess that the current game is. If I wanted to wait until February to play it, I would have kept my money until February. ... I am a professional software developer, and part time game designer, and I can tell you that I wouldn't release something like this for free, much less for money. It would ruin my reputation. And don't think that I am

Have to place my agreement with those yelling MoM. AOW is still relatively modern, MoM on the other hand can be a challenge just to locate. Master of Magic is such an old game in comparison to the others being brought up that it's far more overdue for a sequel of some type, even though I agree Elemental isn't and shouldn't aim to simply be an updated clone, most "lessons learned" research done to enrich Elemental should come from Magic if any is to be done at all.

So anyway.... the new card is here.... GTX 480. (Apparently, I guess, I went for the current 'best' (?) card without 100% realizing it, ah well!) DS is running nice so far after about 2 days. Nvidia can take their old 8800 drivers and stick it!

Something related that I'd like to know (because I first assumed this wasn't the case) - if you buy a boxed version, do you still have access to the digital version and the convenience of an Impulse install? I guess so since we'd have a CD key, right?

That guy with the sword on "Basic Rules Set 1"... I mean, like, what's he thinking? Cool post but I was sad to see nothing from the Dragonlance series (I know, books, not movies, but still). Particularly Bolt of Kaz the Minotaur fame. (Unfortunately it's been too long since I've read any of the books to offer any insight.) Or, maybe I'm just showing my age. [e digicons]:|[/e]
