[quote who="Raven X" reply="46" id="2587345"] Personally, I disagree. Not saying your point here isn't valid, it is. Also though a DvD player you buy to watch a movie doesn't $400 or $500 to purchase. Also, movies, rented or otherwise, are only two or three hour "experiences" at best. They don't last for days or weeks like most games do. You also don't have companies with Billions of Dollars wrapped up in making sure you have a Powerful enough DvD player to watch a movie. Your examp

I don't think you quite understand how the Cloud Servers would, and will, work. It isn't having a single computer for a single customer - and it's not having a single graphics card for a single customer, either. Batch, or Hive, Processing is far more cost effective, and is available today.&nbs

Cloud storage for preferences and saved games: Steam does it, and does it well. Cloud for actually running games a la OnLive: Not yet possible because of lack of internet density (to stream the games), in addition to physical capabilities. There is no cloud computing for GPUs yet. Unless gaming moves away from GPU architecture, or a gaming centric cloud GPU solution is developed, you need one GPU for every session. Gaming can easily tie up 1-3 whole CPUs, making cloud

I can't wait until this game is $10. I admit I've been badmouthing the game a lot, but it deserves to be badmouthed for what they gave you during release. By the time it's $10, however, I think it'll actually be a decent deal.

I might be the only one who thinks this, but that box is very "meh" to me. The goods inside are definitely great, but the box... I don't know. You go for the simple and clean look, which I love, don't get me wrong, but then you stamp 2-3 logos on it, which basically destroys that sense of clean you were going for.

I'm having a great time so far. The single player is so so, but the multiplayer is everything the beta was and more (more than one map, really, really helps). If any of you want, you can check out my clan server: [-Ex-] Exodus Jagerbombs. It's Los Angeles based, so sorry if you're east coast or in Europe. Look for me on there as [-Ex-] aTomato

First of all, hold off on buying STO. It dropped $10 3 weeks after launch. By summer, it'll be $20. As for Steam vs Impulse: Impulse is much less intrusive, while Steam has the better community features. Steam also has many more, and much better, sales than Impulse does. I use Steam way more than Impulse because of the community features. I recognize that Steam is much more intrusive, but because my main gaming group is TF2 based, I'm on Steam anyway. Also, both custom

This will be the most easily circumvented DRM in recent years. Their validation servers will be DDoSed, causing the company to release the failsafe they've already made to allow the game to play without an internet connection.

Currently just Feds and Klingon (though you can have different races within the faction). Klingon is not actually a full faction, though, and are more akin to monsters a la PvMP in LOTRO. They say they are adding factions down the line, such as the Romulans, but you might as well buy the game down the line, too.

It's the Champions Online game engine in the Star Trek universe. The beginning missions are actually pretty interesting and fun. However, it eventually devolves into combat mission after combat mission. You will be able to take out entire fleets of ships as a Miranda class cruiser (the same level based system every other MMO uses). You'll have lots of fun with this game for a week. Depending on how many MMOs you've played before, this may last up to 3 weeks. By then, you'll be out of

Regular download exactly equals regular retail edition. There are no "online bonus items." What you are talking about is the preorder bonus item, of which every retailer gets their own one (amazon, impulse, gamestop, etc). Impulse's memory band is the same as EA Store's. Impulse is the superior delivery system, though. There has been conflicting information that the memory band is actually included with all preorders, meaning impulse wouldn't have any exclusive in game item. D

All new copies of the game get the dragon armor and the stone prisoner for free. All collector editions will get 3 additional in game items. Digital collector editions will get warden's keep ($7 value) for free to make up for the lack of cloth map and tin case. This means you're paying $8 for the aforementioned 3 in game items. Every store also gets their own crappy preorder item for preordering the game, which is separate from everything mentioned above.

I think both NWN 1 and 2 campaigns were the greatest single player RPGs of all time, surpassing those of Baldur's Gate, and even Planescape: Torment. [e digicons]O:)[/e] But back on topic, Dragon Age: Origins I'm actually pretty reserved about. It could either be really good, or really bad. No way of finding out until the game comes out, though.

I pre-ordered this game, tried a whole beta weekend and decided to cancel my preorder. It's not that this game is bad. It's far from it. The graphics are beautiful and the interfaced is polished. It's just that this game is really, really bland. It fails to break from the trope of Kill X and fetch quests (WAR at least tried something new with PQs, LOTRO had great storylines attach to their quest lines). Flying actually REMOVES an element of tactics in PvP, which is the terrain. Boss f

There really is no discussion necessary. If it gets released as a fan mod, the ESRB won't care. Google adult Oblivion mods or adult Fallout mods if you don't believe me. We need to get our facts straight here: 1) Elemental is not going to be a AAA title like Rockstar's GTA series. Elemental might be a better game, but it's simply not going to get as much exposure. 2) ESRB doesn't care about fan mods. The whole GTA fiasco was because the sex minigame was ON THE DISC.</p
