I've been posting on forums here for a while (since I heard about EWOM) Looking forward to getting some of you better - some great ideas being posted!
And participate in the contest! [e digicons];)[/e]
This is starting to sound like "Magesty", which is another fun game. Everything in that game is about trying to influence independents moving around the map.
1) Flying units limited on traveling over large bodies of water, tar or lava based on their size. Hence a sparrow or bat should not be allowed to cross an ocean.
I would say that they couldn't enter "ocean" just as small vessels in Civ IV couldn't.
3) Hopefully spells will exist allowing the terrain to be transformed into swamp, dessert, grassland, forest, wasteland, etc., .
I can see no reason they wouldn't. MoM certainly ha
Well, in MoM the flying trait just made it so that land units could not directly attack them. You could always be counter attacked though. (and you had no terrain hazzards that could slow a flying unit) What else do you suggest? I think a combat bonus to having "higher ground" is a must, especially if terrain features like hills are going to be featured prominantly. I guess that is my main problem with Heroes of Might and Magic battlefields, t
YAY! I fixed it (this thread wasn't displaying properly from my work). It has some gunk in the HTML that was causing it, and I sorted out the HTML I recognized from the HTML I did not. This computer can't see some posts by Johnny as well, I wonder if its the same thing. We? Woah, spartan's been hired to speak for me or can read my mind or something. but he's correct. Though, I wouldn't say its a different direction
@ Dr. JBHL : Sure! In windows you have different commands that are only allowed to be done by an "administrator" In everything prior to Vista (maybe not Me... I never bothered to try to get ME to work) the 1st account created will be an administrator account. Only after you create additional accounts can just regular "user" accounts be created that cannot access certain system properties. Vista on the otherhand, by default makes a user account.&nbs
If W7 has the same abomination of a start menu as Vista, they will have to pay me to use it...
have you actually used it? That is like the main thing they improved. The new start menu and control panel is named and arranged in such a more intuitive mannor. Now, I probebly wouldn't have this opinion if I didn't have to walk customers through troubleshooting with it, but its true! for a comp retard, it is 100 times better then XP and 1000 better th
yeah, that is my situation. I want to upgrade to WPA (my DS is the only thing holding me back) My other problem is the DSi is regionlocked. Sure, it may only be for the downloadable content, but that is STILL region locking. The wii locks out my out of region DS games that have wii connectivity, so who know what that could eventually mean for the DSi. People say "oh, the old DS games will not be region locked" but what about the NEW DS games. Games that t
I was another that missed the original MoM. I am not really sure how I did as I really enjoy the type of game that it is. I guess I was still too busy playing Links at the time and had yet to experience how much fun a 4X game could be .
Well, if you can, do yourself a favor and dos-box it. Especially if you're in the long haul here so you know why we want this game to be made.
aye aye! I'll see what I can do to encourage Impluse use.
yeah, I really wanted something on the front, but sadly it increased the price of shirt by quite a bit, since they have to run the shirt a 2nd time with a different print. Maybe if stardock does some official shirts, that is how it can be done.
Well, we should give him 'least a month. He could have just gone on a very nice holiday. Cross country trip, then a cruise... something that lasts more than 1 week. Certainly if he's not been sighted by Febuary though, we need the bloodhounds. Just in case, does anybody have any of his personal possessions that might be usable to track his sent?
Spartan has volunteered to raise the bar as well. 1st and 2nd place will be getting a video game! He has a spare copy of L4D (as seen in the avatar forum) and apparently he's willing to also purchase a Stardock game for somebody. So that is being added to the prize pile. Does impulse have a 'gift feature?' Otherwise I'll just have to ship a retail box with the shirt. Also, I'm more than happy t
FAQ: Q: When does it end again? your wall of text main-topic post is hard to read. A: Well, I like feedback, so let me know if you know how I can improve it. Anyway to answer your question, it ends March 27th (that should be a friday) and the winners will be announced April 3rd (that should be the following friday) Q: From what are the shirts made? Should I worry about shrinkage in the
Welcome to the first unofficial fan contest! (*but its over now *) Its over, no more... ended on the 27th The winners are on the 2nd page This contest is I think the first contest for Elemental fans of any kind, official or otherwise. This is by fans (or one anyway) for
It is done! I have created a shirt! I live in a desert, so the short sleeves and thin fabric was a must. It is a polo with a caller, again something I wanted so I could wear it to my current job. The shirt says Elemental: War of Magic in the same font as is used for the official logo, but with less texture so it’s a little more uniform in colors. The lower right no longer has the stardock logo, it just has the label “by stardock” and &ldqu
you can't be using the most up to date version of flash. Its a known glitch. If you do, then hopefully you are on a windows and using firefox or chrome, because that means there is a chance that it is not on internet explorer. Open internet explorer ( start/run/'iexplore' ) sign in and upload your avatar. Its a pain, I know. But Stardock has bigger problems then to fix problems with Adobe's plugins
Yep, this is pre-beta discussion period! The whole point of these forums is for us to sling around our thoughts in hope of the devs getting some nice inspiration from them which in the end improves the game as a whole...
and to generate early excitement and community for the game to ensure a better turn out when it is not pre-beta
World of Goo is one of the best purchases for my PC that I made in the last few months, maybe even year. It was really fun, though too short (arn't most good games though?). I highly recommend it. (I'm a big lemmings fan, just to state) The others.... good question, I hope to hear from others.
Awesome job. I'll have to think about it for a while, since you put the bar pretty high with a start like that.
I remember some of these people. Where have the gone?
In order to build the units, one must research the techs. Some will have multiple tiers to it. Then you have to have a building to build the right unit. Maybe a hatchery for all the Avian/Draconic creatures. A stable for the horses. Maybe even the special units need their own training buildings. A Labrynth Training Ground for Minotaurs, Graveyard for undead, etc. Research could have several catagories. Animal Husbandry, Monster Training, and Summoning. Each one gives you certa
you're now more informed than I am. Certainly explains why I couldn't find any fast african bears. I thought I saw a bear once in a movie that was supposed to take place in africa, but you know movies. The africans has african elephants though. Not as awesome as bears, but certainly tough and pretty fast. To bring back to main topic (not that bears arn't on topic) what about other bizzar mount types. I've never seen an elephant chariot, but why not
That's true, but come on, if you had extra planes planned for the game at the stage those screenshots were taken why would you ever put together a UI without that facility?
so that it is functional prior to you completing the feature. There are MANY things missing from that UI. Like a main menu button... thats a pretty core. Its missing a ton of buttons, they just obviously haven't finalized it. To make it really intuitive it wo
